Just having a bit of a tidy up any one know much about them? I have found one water heater and one petrol powered diesel heater, I was hoping to fire them up.

It will come in handy even if you never use it

Best thing is to establish which model heater you have as they differ quite a bit. Some of the older ebers would only let you attempt starting it up a number of times before locking themselves out which then required a dealer to "unlock" them.

Diesel D5w and a petrol powered BN4, I am going to sell them but they are worth twice as much when running!

I had one and I sold it cos it was so unreliable. You have to have the pump just at the right angle and make sure it's all, primed. Plenty of support on boat forums . Sold mine for £150 not working.

You might want to have a look on the VW forums, they are very popular with the bus crowd.

Intrigued to read this, as diesel to air ones are normally very reliable and certainly the install manuals for Webasto and Eberspacher are detailed.

Same here,I work in the motorhome industry, and Eberspacher and Webasto are the most sought after brands.
Try Mellor Online for anything you need, really really helpful bloke, good prices too.

Whether you believe you can, or you cannot, you're probably right.

They are generally pretty reliable, I have a D1L on my boat, but they do need a lot of current to start up, often over 20 amps, so good wiring and decent battery is essential for testing. (Preferably one hooked up to a decent charger) You can find a lot of the manuals on here: www.butlertechnik.com/technical_library/d5w-d52
