So....
A) I've seen another car I want
B) The winter is over so no need for Quattro
C) Caravan has sold so no need for a tow vehicle
D) I already have a blue 90's saloon (Rover 600)
Details:
1997 Audi A6
2.8 V6, 30 valve
193 bhp
Quattro permanent four wheel drive
5 speed auto/tiptronic box
Bad points first:
Timing belt needs changing. The full kit is supplied. The car has only done 30k miles since it was last changed, but it was 13 years ago. Of course it was on the list to do, but the coffee shop has just taken up all my time.
The drivers window now works (new regulator fitted when I got the car), but the window mustn't be lined up 100% spot on, as there is some wind noise.
Small bits of rust bubbling under the paint on the bottom of the drivers door.
Couple of small bumper scuffs.
Good Points:
What a fantastic, comfortable car.
Beautiful cream leather interior, so a lovely place to sit and munch some miles in.
Ice cold aircon/dual zone climate control
Original 'Audi Concert' head unit
CD changer
Tiptronic auto
Recently serviced just before I bought it in November (oil/plugs/filters)
Freshly waxoiled underneath just before I bought it
Recent brand new remote flip key
Pretty good on fuel for what it is.
Pics:
The car currently wears my private plate, but I'll probably take this off before the sale.
Since I bought it I've sorted out the non-working drivers window, replaced the tyre that was low on tread, replaced the OS front drop link/arm and given it a tidy up....and I'm still only asking for what I paid for it. I'm no good at this game!
A lovely lovely motor, low miles for the year, that is ageing well, and is still a superb car to waft about in. It's in a great colour, which shines up really well.
Priced for a quick sale, and taking into account the timing belt that needs doing, I'm asking £1100, which I think is fair, and small moneys for a lot of car.
Located in Saltburn-By-The-Sea (TS12), I'm happy to help out with picking the new owner up from a railway station (Middlesbrough or Darlington) or airport (Durham Tees Valley or Newcastle).
