Elford were a franchise dealer back in the day, I think you're confusing Elford for TICKFORD, which breathed performance enhancements on certain vehicles, namely they were responsible for the Turbo MG Montegos/Maestros and a whole lot of more exciting stuff. No, Elford. But absolutely not on a Rover, that would be Tickford

Interesting, I had heard of the Elford Mazda turbos and everyone knows of Tickford, but this definitely said Elford. Anyway, went out today to make the most of the bank holiday with a couple of friends to do some retro abandoned hunting. Picked them up, put fuel in my car, headed out for breakfast and then headed out for one location, couldn't remember how to get to it from where we were so went to this place. On the way to the next one my PAS died. Pulled over and after a few checks realised my alternator wasn't charging the battery. Quite a few people went past and the only person who stopped was in an awesome 30's Bentley (or something else large) special. The driver asked if i was alright and I told him the power steering had gone, and he looks at me, whilst holding onto this 2 foot diameter steering wheel and says something like "overrated anyway" before setting off again. Honestly made my day.

There's a Mk2 Allegro somewhere in there charles97 It's a two door as well retrolegends, I wish I'd looked in the other barns now. From the road you can see another two series Land Rovers and a Jeep Cherokee. Think the blue one is a MK2 Cavalier?

I think it's on the corner of Melbourne Street and Upper Charnwood Street. I was walking from a garage I use on Nedham Street to the Station (honest!) when I took the pic.

Nice looking Minor. Taxed and MOT-exempt (1957). Maybe its owner strayed into the wrong corner of town, never to be seen again...
