So as I mentioned before, when I got the car the front discs were very tired. Not worn out but pitted and warped. This is very common on the AP two part disc/hub type apparently due to a high iron content? The previous owner was honest about this fact. I was daft enough to assume how much replacements were! Well the answer is about £500 a pair. Poops! There were various chats on the HSV forum about Range Rover sport discs being the correct size and stud pattern but no specific guide. At £90 a pair it was worth a go. I bought a pair from a local parts shop so I could return if it was wrong. Well the rumours were true....ish. They have 5x120 stud pattern and are 360mm diameter but the studs on a Range Rover are m16 not m12 and the centre spigot is also a few mm bigger on the Range Rover. Luckily my father in law is a bit handy with machining and has the kit to do it These work spot on! Stop as I would hope and saved me a fortune. Of course I could have opted for groves/cross drilled but I can’t fault these so I was very relieved this worked

Love these but gutted you can't get one with a slush box. And ironically I look at so many Mercedes, Jaguars etc and think why can't I have a manual? Most of them over here are auto, wish there were more manual ones! They also did an auto V6 supercharged car, but it was much slower and used nearly as much fuel as the V8 I went to the Sydney Motor Show in 1998 when they released the concept and 2001 when the road car came out. I’d always love a Series 1 car in Devil Yellow..

^^^^ I do like a Yellow one but not quite brave enough! I always loved this one though, hence the wheel colour on mine I always liked the Holden stuff after I saw what the HSV equivalent of our Senator A looked like We got They got Or is this the equivalent of the Viceroy? Either way they are coool

For every HSV (or HDT as per your photo) we had thousands of bland sedans like your first photo.
The 427 Monaro looked and sounded great but they only ended up making a couple.
Always strange to see Aussie cars with UK plates on them!

Love seeing the Aussie cars overseas. You should look at replacing the bonnet sound proofing/heat shielding.

that's very interesting about the discs, as a friend of a friend has very recently picked up an 04 built 55 registered vauxhall monaro, 6 speed manual in silver with a hsv spoiler added and some subtle rear boxes.

It’s been a busy day in the garage today. Yesterday evening these arrived in the post all the way from eBay I usually hate anything to do with exhaust work when no ramp is available but this job really went to plan! The only snag being that there wasn’t space to fit the full Y section in as we needed enough room to fit the motors too As you can see above we ended up cutting in the diverting section into the pipe rather than the full section, this was I little more fiddly but ended up a far more compact and neat job. We coated the weld in silver VHT paint to prevent corrosion Now all wired in and working a treat! Sounds evil, I can’t wait to test it on the road but I can’t even get it up the drive currently due to snow so it will have to wait..... I will try and get a vid up if I can get a good recording but I only have my phone which is pretty terrible

Sweet car. It qualifies as retro as far as I'm concerned. A friend here in New Zealand bought one of these new in 2002. I drove it once when it had only delivery mileage on it. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience but found it deceptively, almost dangerously, quiet with the factory mufflers. Taking off from his house I got to the top of the village street and thinking about third gear I realised it was doing 90 km/hr. Out on the highway at 100 km/hr in sixth gear it was pulling 1100 rpm. The boys at Church were all encouraging him to cut the factory mufflers off so it would sound like what it was but he wouldn't because to do so would void the dealer warranty.

Or actually I guess it’s nearest spiritual predecessor is the Monza? They must have considered badging the monaro as Monza at some point. It would have helped U.K. customers place it in the range.. .
