Had a few things done
I got the cat removed today by C&C in Hillington. Sounds a touch better and a little friskier
Also got the band expander installed myself, hooked into power for the ETC toll collection thingy and its working fine.

Car has been lowered, before and after pic below. New discs and pads done Pic of the de-cat there too, sorry, not the best! Not sure what I think of the lowering, don't like the look but the handling is miles better, less pendulum effect!

I agree, would look super cool on a set of nice JDM rims, but it would loose the stealth factor by doing that

This was mine, imported a set of JIC Magic coil overs because they ride so gooooood, sensible drop and rims. Sure you'll agree its transformed the car

Yeah Its made a good difference in the handling without upsetting the ride thankfully. I'll need to try some wheel options and see how it goes. I think it would look better with more wheel and less rubber

I had a big issue with the damping, on an uneven road at speed, it was borderline scary when you got a bit of speed up. Adjustable coils really helped. They were 18s with a reasonable +30 ish offset

Small update. Wasn't happy with how low it was, didnt use it much so ended up buying a cheap set of coilovers and a set of 17" Lexus alloys. Needed 10mm spacers to look right, all good. Got a slight judder at 50mph now, I think it was the tyre balancing (hopefully) but ran out of time to re-do them:

I saw a pair of black CROWN Estates fresh off the ship last week. One had a really nice set of BBS wheels too. I would have taken a closer look, but there were a pair of R34 GTR's and an FD RX7 and a couple of Supras, plus more.. That was a good day at work!

I think it looks great now...very nice wheels...the stance looks better, too. Do they make a tail gate spoiler for that car?
nice job!

Ok, back to the drawing board! The 50mph rumble was too annoying. Took it to my local Kwik Fit today, guys were great, turns out the 10mm spacers were the issue so back to standard wheels. Driving awesome again, mega smooth. I think I need to get proper spacers, maybe 7mm if I can that are specific to the fitment and not multifit. Fair play to Kwik Fit Paisley, super helpful, no charge The roof spoiler is available, I could import one, but I'm in two minds if I want it! Getting old!

Just a small update Managed to get a full spare key. I have a Phase 1 CROWN so no immobiliser which helped. I ordered a used CROWN key from Yahoo Japan using Nengun which cost me £29 inc all fees. I ordered a blank Toyota key which is the same shape as the CROWN key and has the same blade. I also needed a single button version and found one on Amazon UK for £7 all in (called Toy48) It took a little time to find someone close by to cut the key but in the end a shop in Paisley cut it for me for £10. I then re-programmed the remote lock to the unit using a guide from YouTube Japan etc. Including a battery about £47 which is pretty good

Not much to update, its been great. A few things: One of the back seatbelts wasn't clicking in so I ordered a new part from Japan and fitted a few days ago. A little annoying it was a black surround when I needed ivory/cream but they don't have any in the right colour anymore. However, its not seen as the part is within the seat base. The cracked screen is annoying so Ive ordered a new nav screen, currently on the way from Japan. Wasn't too expensive, maybe £90 Mechanically its solid, drives superb. I'll get it in for a flush of auto fluid in the new year, just to treat it A wee pic from a few days ago with its friend:

Yeah, the ones Ive spotted are from Germany too, thinking 7mm would be ideal I'm not in a hurry, the tyres are new on the standard wheels and on the new wheels, so Ill use this set first. I still prefer the standard wheels really, if only they were a little wider/larger

Argh, everytime I think I've made my mind up on a Legacy GT I remember this thread and that I could have a practical wagon with a 1JZ in it.....

Really nice CROWN Axeboy.
I ended up getting a Caldina st215. I'm a JZ man usually but got to say the 4 pot 3SGTE 4th gen has impressed me
Any long term plans for it or the usual maintenance and enjoy it as a daily?

Slight thread highjack but how do you find the Caldina? The 4 speed auto always put me off. (I've an ST185 too so one troublesome 3SGTE should be enough for me)

They're great to drive mate and the 4th gen 3S is even pretty economical when driven sensibly, puts power down very well.
I never used to drive auto's until about 6 years ago, since then all my imports have been auto's and they make perfect dailys in my opinion.
I wouldn't intentionally go back/convert to manual now unless the car I wanted was manual. Being tiptronic you can use manual mode but since I've started using it I haven't felt the need to yet.
Been impressed with it and it does remind me of a cross between my old ZS161 and Celica funnily enough.
Practical with good performance and 4wd makes it an excellent car to use tbh.
