I had a look the other week, simply typed in classic cars, lowest starting price, just to see what was out there, i got to the 3rd page, and then realised that every car featured was starting at 99p i didn't think this was right as i clicked on a couple, and they all said the same, the vehicle you are looking for is not listed, call this number blah blah blah... so after 10 mins of trying to get someone online to ask if this was legit, and if so... why was this allowed (as you were having your time wasted, and also it looked like a 'con' of somekind) i finally got to get my point/query across, i was told the following; who stood a chance of buying a classic car at 99p? I answered, 'i know this! but you have to start somewhere, but why waste peoples time page after page when there is no car to bid on? the assistant said they couldn't find the vehicles i was talking about....? I gave them directions on how to type the word CLASSIC CAR and click on LOWEST STARTING PRICE... eventually low and behold They found it! i was then given the assurance that they have 'Special teams' who deal with online fraud etc etc.... but if i wanted to report my findings, they would put me in touch with the 'special team' and i can report the items............. of course! i was really going to report each individual item page after page after page when once i had reported it, surely it was up to them to go through the vast amount of pages and put it right? did they honestly think i had hours of spare time to sit in front of a screen doing their job for them? they asked me if i wanted to be transferred to the team? I said thanks, but i have better things to do than do your job for you! so beware folks, obviously this is something that a lot of dishonest people are doing, don't be taken in, if so, and all turns out well... well done to you, however, if you are tempted for the 1st time... do keep both eyes WIDE OPEN!
Totally agree, it is stupid that you have to manually report each listing (often several hundred scam listings on some poor saps account) instead of just report the seller for them to go thru and sort it out (i.e do their frickin job).
Surely they would have bots finding and flagging these listings for them anyway.
I'd like to know how they hack these accounts as well.
