Hi guys, I’ve been musing selling my Eunos over the last a few days. I’ve been meaning to get it MOT’d and reaprayed for two years now and I’m still no closer. I’ve got another project on the go and I’m already too busy with running several businesses plus another coming in April. I’ve no idea what the current prices are for Eunos/MX5s as they tend to vary wildly on eBay and the MX5nuts Facebook group. The basics are, it’s a 1992 Eunos Roadster, imported in the mid 2000’s (iirc) and it has the 1.6 115bhp engine. Bodywork is in fair condition. No major rot from what I can see but the lips of the arches have started scanning and the cills under the step plates will need a few blobs of weld, although the cill ends themselves have been welded in the past and are holding up. The paint is quite flat but a good cut would probably bring it in good. It has a hardtop in fair condition but it’s in silver. It has the standard steel wheels currently on it as well has a genuine set of 14” BBS’s. Engine is in good working order and sounds lovely. It’s had the 14deg timing mod and has a de-catted stainless thru system. The interior is a slight mish-mash at the minute as I hadn’t finished it. It’s got tan leather seats, good condition black carpet, homemade quilted doorcards and genuine wooden Nardi steering wheel. Here is the Readers Rides thread for more info. The pictures are still linked to Photobucket though. I haven’t had a chance to change the host. retrorides.proboards.com/thread/156080/1992-eunos-roadsterAny advise would be greatly appreciated 😊 Thanks guys.

Its got a few nice parts.
MOT is key thou.
I recommend £800 as is, or £1100 with MOT but would list it higher to compensate with the dreaded haggle.
OR
I would sell parts off it then sell the project.
Stainless steel exhaust Nardi if not to chipped Hardtop BBS
(Coughing)
Ideally if you had the time get a owner who owns a 90'G reg roadster, he could drive to your place then sell/swap parts over taking his part on yours so it still complete then sell the car. BTW I own a Saab turbo aero HOT aswell, love the thread you have up

£250-400 + £200 separate sale of the hardtop if in good order. If that's the case then I'm interested if you pass on doing it up. I would keep it if I was you, who cares about if it looks poor, just MOT and drive it for summer

I was going to get it MOT’d because they always sell easier, if I’m doing that (now I’m thinking about it) I might as well keep it and have some fun in the summer. I would love to supercharge, lower, roll arches and have some wide wheels on, but all the MX5/Eunos seem to be going this way, hence wanting to keep it relatively standard/OEM+. What bits are you after out of interest? Thanks for the Saab support 👍🏻 You brought Lightyearmans one didn’t you?

Tbf Darkspeed wasn't that far off- it's a MX5 with no MOT and needs a few areas of rust and other bits that need doing- £4-500 would be about right from my perspective.
Obviously Fossil is someone who sees at as more valuable and you might get someone with cash who does too but £800 would be optimistic in my opinion.
Would be worth putting an MOT on it if you had the time to get closer to what you wanted.

I'm a sucker for a unloved eunos's... Supercharged is the way but decent 1.6 are getting harder to find. You have a hard top which sells this time of year £250-300. Sell that to fund a patch or two of weld.
Yep, that's the Saab I have, it's black with a sunroof (important for me) black interior with heated and Aircon seats. Needs a few bits but so far well impressed. I was a volvo kinda guy and 850r is out of my budget the 9-5 is as fast yet super comfy 3rd year pull is fantastic.
I have a Nardi and its got a black centre was hoping for chrome as I have some shiny bits on it (OEM/JDM not tacky). My Nardi is also worn a tad, can't find a place to refurbished it so was considering that and the stainless exhaust as I have RSR down pipe and then a standard cat back.
If your having troubles with pics and hosting send me a few via whatsup and I'll post them here.
You have a PM my good man

I'd definitely agree with Darkspeed. Between me and a friend we've owned 7 mx5's (mk1's up to mk2.5's) none of them have been over £600, all had mot, and most had enough strength left in the sills for at least one more Mot.
He just bought a fairly tidy mk2 last week funnily enough, 6 months mot, decent tyres, sills have the usual mot patches; ugly but sound.. £500.
My last mk1 eunos in BRG, I made new sills both sides, absolutely immaculate sills and arches due to me respraying them (only did the rear quarters, nothing else) it still only sold for £650 including 10 months Mot. I thought that was a low price, but it was on bids so clearly was its true value.

I recently sold my Mk1 Eunos 1.6. I had the same difficulty arriving at a price as there is such variation.
Mine was pretty rough. Used as a drift toy for a couple of years, a few dents and wall-kisses, it was painted with matt NATO paint using a roller . It had a few drifty bits on it - hydraulic handbrake, welded diff, big brake upgrade, bucket seat.. No MOT and a couple of patches on the sills. Not the greatest example! I tried offering it at various prices with no bites so I stuck it on eBay with a 99p start and it fetched £380. I would say that yours seems like a much better car than mine so I'd expect at least £500 without the hard top and no MOT. £250 at least for the hard top if sold separately.
