Seat Arosa
1.7SDI, Silver, 172k
Has been the first car for both my sons, who have now moved on to other things. It's been a faithful old thing and will be sad to see it go.
We originally bought it as insurance was among the cheapest we could find for young drivers. Also does 55 - 60 mpg.
New MoT at the end of October. Had to replace one rear spring and one ARB droplink for that
It's also just had a service with oil/filter, air filter and fuel filter. Brakes checked, cleaned up and adjusted.
We've had it since 2014 (and about 146k). Work done in our ownership
PAS pump and system flush out (bought with known failed pump and it was very dead!) It's been fine since.
Gearbox completely rebuilt with correct diesel ratios
New clutch kit.
Front and rear dampers
Full cam belt kit
Water pump
Battery
Ignition switch
Front brake hoses
EGR valve blanked off and inlet manifold de-coked - Performance improved considerably. Engine seems very healthy and uses no oil
Cosmetically it's fairly good. No rot. It's not quite like other Arosas I've seen. I'm not sure whether it is a special edition or whether a previous owner has collected features from other models (GTI even Lupo?) as it has a smooth front bumper with a deeper section and a smooth rear bumper. The latter I'm pretty sure is Lupo and it's the scruffiest part of the car as the paint is coming off in a few areas revealing a previous blue colour.
Has 14" Seat alloy wheels fitted. Again, not sure if they are original fit or borrowed from an Ibiza, but they suit it and the overall effect is tasteful and factory. Front tyres are Firestone and were new at the end of last year. Rears have decent tread. There is a matching, full size spare.
Interior is again, above base model and in pretty good condition.
It's not fast and it's not refined but it runs well, is surprisingly fun to drive and cheap to run. No stereo fitted at present (though I can probably find one if the price is right).
Was in daily use until end of October when we had a fleet re-shuffle. Currently SORN.
Located near South Petherton, Somerset, 15 mins from Haynes motor museum.
Asking £ 550 ono
