Hi, well this is going to be a huge regret, but I am unfortunately having to put my C250 C Class up for sale, only selling as I am after something as a weekend toy due to just getting a new job with company car.
I may consider a swap for something sporty.
Video of walk around and start up after being stood for 2 days -
Pictures of car are in my thread :- forum.retro-rides.org/thread/200422/member-1999-mercedes-c250td-sport?page=1&scrollTo=2358782
The car is the bullet proof 2.5 5 Cylinder Turbo Diesel engine - known as OM605.
It has covered 135700 genuine miles and has plenty of history with stamped book to reinforce this.
The car starts and drives great, it has plenty of power and pulls well with the fantastic 5 cylinder giving an awesome sound (well for a diesel anyway :-)
The car is standard other than the wheels.
If inclined, these engines are capable of pushing out around 400bhp, which is testament to the build quality of the 5 pot unit..
Ok the spec:-
C250TD Sport - Genuine sport which are very rare to come across, this includes -
White dials on instrument cluster, lowered from factory, carbon trim, leather steering wheel / gear knob and probably much more.
The car is MOT'd until January 2018
- I am quite happy to put it through the test for the new buyer if they prefer, but i'm quite sure it'll pass, looking around the car.
All 4 x tyres are in very good condition,
18" AMG (R129) alloy wheels,
Auto gearbox, - selects perfectly into every gear, no nasty noises - fully operative.
Cruise control - with speed limit feature
Black sports interior, which is near perfect.
Pioneer Bluetooth Headunit,
Dual climate,
No cold start issues - starts up after glow plug light has gone out.
I have just replaced the engine mounts due to slight vibration at idle, it is now super smooth.
To say the car is 18 years old, the exterior and interior do polish up really well, and such a nice place to be when cruising along.
Bad points,
1 key,
Overall hardly any rust on the body, but it does show in some small areas, mainly on the n/s/f wing, a few rust bubbles but not enough to bother me. I guess if I planned to keep I would get 2 x wings fitted as they are bolt off.
If left for a more than 3 days without starting the car takes around 20 seconds to fire, I believe this to be the delivery valve seals (common issue), I've been using it daily anyway so not been an issue. - just being totally honest here,
Thats it really!
If anyone would like a test drive they are more than welcome to come and view.
Thanks for looking
