So perusing the bay of E as one often does, I happened across what appeared to be an alarmingly cheap find. I know the other half has wanted one for quite some time, so we gave it a go. 2 Days later and £200 off the asking price we have a new addition! So, like all of them, its a 1991, 987cc turbo, 3 speed auto and its wonderful. We weren't in any doubts that buying a car for 1/3 of the going rate it was going to be mint, but hell, it was there, and it was cheap. Its going to the bodyshop tonight to have some quotes as one of the rear strut towers is mighty crusty (though it has never shown up on an MoT. We'll get that welded up then it goes for MoT next week once thats done I think. After that its all the little niggles, getting the radio working properly, interior lighting is a bit dim apparently and the tappets are noisy as anything when cold, all relatively easy fixes. Shall try and keep this thread updated unlike the rest of my threads!

Horrible little cars but only because I used to work on them, we used to send the original radios back to clarion who would convert them properly rather than fitting one of the fm converters, which made these so much better, quite a few of the one we had in needed the roof replaced which is easy enough and makes them so much better

I'd love one of these... You never seem to see any that have been modified, or maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places!

Looking at the interior of one of these, I wonder if you could take most of it out and put it in a Mitsuoka Viewt?

Though thats not to say I'm not to touch it, I've fitted automatic headlights, follow me home lights, parrot kit and subwoofer to the Punto, so nothing is off the table just yet she may have asked how difficult a manual conversion would be

No, not cheap, I've been looking at them for ages thinking about buying one, but I don't want to part with that much cash for what is basically a Nissan Micra in a pretty party frock!

Saw a bit of a club stand on the jetty at Falmouth last month! Funny little things but the better half still fancies one!

I hate this forum.....now I want one of these as well..... I think a good one will be a typical Nissan joy to own. A bad one on the other hand.... A diabolical money pit. When I looked at eBay the prices ranged from £1500.00 for an MOT failure with loads of rust, to £12000.00 for a top priced one (which I still would not know if it was a safe bet. There are a bunch of these about, mostly worn by fashion conscious, but possibly not at all mechanically capable owners. I still would love to own one and see it modded cosmetically to a point of craziness that wins prizes and draws the eye. But you will surely lose your shots. Did I mention I would love one......

PS. I think you should post those pics from your other thread in here too...... Just to get our juices flowing even more.

Needs more cowbell! No, hang on, I mean wheel and tyre! Always look like they're running on casters on what, 12" stock wheels?

I’ve always had a want for one of these but never really had the space / time / funds to put to one along with my other needs.
I would go satin black with red pinstriping, floored with hydraulics and cover up the rear wheels with panels.
Like a mini lead sled.

Look great with a decent set of wheels and lowered 👍👍
