So i needed a new daily driver since my MK5 Fiesta Zetec s kindly blew its valve stem oil seals out which was great. ive always wanted a 205 even before i got my MGB( progress to come on this ) so i scouted Ebay and this absolute beauty popped up so i made the 4 hour trip to Peterborough and i walked away with it the same day for £800. The only things it needs is a Passenger side driveshaft and there is a little bit of rust on the drivers side inside wheel arch other than this the car drives amazing for a 25 year old flat diesel. anyway heres some pics of when i picked it up and what it looks like underneath. As you can see its really clean underneath As you can see she has a full GTI interior and also the GTI wheels and suspension setup it defo needs the gti antiroll bar on the front though. i brought her into the workshop a work to give her quick health check all was good. PlansBilstein B4 Shocks with Eibach springs and new topmounts 1.9 XUD From a 306 and some sort of very large turbo GTI Front spoiler with lights Get the GTI seats recovered and repaired Get the GTI Speedlines refurbished New set of Tyres Any suggestions are welcome Cheers Alex

One of the things that really annoyed me about the car was how the passenger seat was like a rocking chair when on the move. it was quite funny to watch the passenger nearly get slingshotted through the screen however i kinda had to make it safe . So the first port of call was to remove the seat from the car this was easy with only 5 T40 torx bolts holding it in these all came out very easily unlike my fiesta. IMG_20171010_172116083 by alexdavies3, on Flickr IMG_20171010_172127073 by alexdavies3, on Flickr As you can see the condition of the carpet is quite good IMG_20171010_172131991 by alexdavies3, on Flickr The seat was then laid on its back and the investigation into why it rocked continued, Ahh guess that will be why IMG_20171010_172248861 by alexdavies3, on Flickr All four bolts holding the seat to the seat frame were completely loose and maybe a finger turn tight which could of ended very badly in a accident so the seat slider was removed and the seat put into its access the rear seats position and the 4 T40s were tightened up IMG_20171010_173644296 by alexdavies3, on Flickr I then reinstalled the passenger seat and gave the carpet and seats a good clean and they came out looking very nice i just need to get the seats recovered and repaired but at the rocking chair passenger seat was now fixed and sorted. So today i gave her a full service including Air filter/ Oil , Oil filter and also a nice new magnetic sump plug i also treated her to a brand new oil cap as mine only had one clip on it and it would flap open and leak oil out here is a nice XUD shot post service IMG_20171015_173422117 by alexdavies3, on Flickr I also gave her a bit of a clean and for 25 year old paint she came out quite nice tbf baring in mind i still have to polish it and wax it yet i was amazed for 25 year old paint IMG_20171015_171638274_HDR by alexdavies3, on Flickr IMG_20171015_171657701_HDR by alexdavies3, on Flickr IMG_20171015_172034068 by alexdavies3, on Flickr Next on the list is to install my new passenger side driveshaft as the knocking is getting worse and i have one to fit and also to source a fuel filter as the one Euro gave me was wrong also need to change the timing belt at some point. Cheers Alex

One of the biggest issues with the car was that the passenger side driveshaft was absolutely destroyed how it didnt break is beyond me so i needed to change it as soon as possible this turned into a much easier job than i imagined with the years of CV grease keeping all the bolts rust free Old dead shaft coming out IMG_20171017_174230920 by alexdavies3, on Flickr Shiny new shaft installed IMG_20171017_180139387_TOP by alexdavies3, on Flickr She was then Rebuilt and roadtested and the horrible knock is now gone its a much more pleasant drive Cheers Alex

What a gem of a 205 that is...
As far a modern day, reliable, characterful classic motors go this is right up there with the best of them!
I look forward to seeing how this progresses.
Nice one!
