I have a question for the Volvo boys in here. I have a 2001 S60 T5 petrol. Recently started developing a high idle of 1500rpm. Seems pretty bang on as well, no spluttering or hunting just bang on 1500. Seems to be worse after driving for a little while. The engine light came on and scanned it which showed a P2096 error which points to a dodgy lambda sensor maybe? Seems to me though that wouldn't necessarily cause the high idle? My hunch is an air leakage somewhere which I'm guessing would cause it to run lean (hence error code) and could cause the high idle. What do you guys think?

Motorised throttle body ? If so it off and have a look through it . If it's dirty and can't see any light through it give it a good clean til it's nice and shiny including the edges of the butterfly . Battery off while your doing it then let the idle adapt . Don't see them now but used to do quite a few when they were coming in as sales cars from traders

Good call though, I think I'll try what you suggested on the weekend. Thanks for the tip!
