Hi there,
I just picked up some 8 x 16 ET11 pentas for my Mercedes 126. made in the 80's they are a single piece. They have a polished but lacquered rim and painted centre spokes. They are over all in very good condition with no kerbing or damaged, the only problem is the lacquer over the polished rims has become broken in places.
I was wondering what the options are for repair, my thoughts are.
I could get them power coated for about 150, perhaps in a nice chrome type power coat could look nice, i'd like a contrasting centra spokes though which match the lower colour of the car, does anyone know if you can get wheels power coated with two colours? also does powder coating make the wheel weaker or make the wheel less desireable to others if I wish to sell.
Can I just get the rims de-lacquered and re-polished? would this be cheaper?
here is a photo of one of the wheels.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
