Do you have model numbers on the injectors and the vapouriser? If the they are wrong (mainly the vapouriser) it will never work on it. But it is fixable. On my Mondeo V6 I had normal injectors but a "Super" vapouriser for this very reason. Alot of people do it the other way around, which is what my first V6 had done. yup, I've bought some LPG cars in the past and torn my hair out many a time ; We used to convert them for a living. The easiest thing to do which you can do yourself is to change the two filters. One on the vaporiser solenoid (a pre-filter) and the main filter between the vaporiser and the injectors. The main filter is dead easy to change. The small filter is trickier but doable. Sometimes it's cheaper just to buy the solenoid assembly itself over just the filter. I'm not sure about numbers, I'll have a look at the weekend. I don't suppose you know where I could pick up the filters? I've found a few filter suppliers but I'm unsure they're the right ones. It just says Romano HD on the paperwork. Are there many types of HD system, or just the one? It was fitted in 2010. I've read that the injectors in the HD system are user serviceable and are simple to remove, open, and clean. Can i literally just take them off to clean? I'm not going to have a big gas leak?!

My Rover also has LPG but with carbs and there are 2 solenoids with valves fitted. There is 1 on the tank and there is 1 with a filter near the vapouriser and if your ignition is switched of or you switch over to petrol then these solenoids with valves will be closed so no big gas leaks is you remove the injectors

Cool - - thanks mate. It might be worth me finding some time to remove them and clean them up.
Interestingly, it didn't present any problems today (bar the cold-start missy idle). Had it on gas and jumped on the (very) loud pedal.. accelerated superbly right to the redline! The plot thickens..

I've dailied the XJR since fitting the 2nd (Lucas) alternator and it's been an utter joy! It does still have a miss at cold idle, and doesn't let me hammer it on gas, but in terms of getting me to work and back, it's been a delight!
I'm getting the chain and tensioners inspected, and a compression test done next week. I just want to rule out any nasties before spending any of my hard earned on the likes of LPG injector cleaner and plugs. Hit the 160k milestone this week, I'm amazed at how well the interior has worn considering the miles, only the driver's seat bolster gives the game away. Anyway, I'll update after this week's work is done. I really hope it's good news!

Well, bit of disappointing news here (for me) - I've got to put my super saloon up for sale. 😢
PM me if you're interested, it's too new for the 'cars for sale ' section, and i don't want this to turn in to a for sale thread.
Basically, i don't have the time to work through the niggles and so I'm going to use the other Jag (that thankfully didn't sell) as my family daily. I don't want to use eBay to sell it, so get in touch if you're interested. I currently use it for my 25 mile a day commute, so mileage will increase rapidly!
