How well did it work? I have a Pinto Capri and a RX8 6 speed I was planning on putting in it. what problems did you encounter? and why isn't it being used anymore?
Definately a mod I'm interested/invested in doing

In a Capri you'll need to either convert the box to cable clutch or fit a Hydraulic Master Cylinder. There's a bit of cutting/grinding to do on the bell housing. Type 9 clutch fits the Mazda box, type 9 prop also fits but you need to change the output oil seal. I have seen the carbon fibre mazda props used but via an adaptor to the diff. Biggest pain is getting the speedo to work as the 8 is electronic.

I have all the hydraulic master cylinder parts, I also have the Carbon prop from the RX8 and I've heard that redrilling the diff flange to match the RX8 prop is a good way to do it. I also bought an electronic speedo to fit into my guages, however I have since read that there isn't a speed sensor on the RX8 box, the 2 senders are for neutral and reverse. If so I'll have to figure out another way or use a GPS speedo. I know a few people have made these plates, Psycho P9cyo? plates, and some dude called Freddy, and someone else called Lee. Which one is this by the way? |

Hi m8, this plate is one of the better ones, one of Freddies. I got this plate with a spare box I bought and not using it as I have my own plate
There is 2 plugs on the box, as far as I know one is a neutral switch and one is speed senior, I can't confirm the 2nd as I just use my sat nav

Yes type 9 prop does fit but it is slightly narrower. Changing the seal over will sort it but I think changing over to the rx8 prop end would be a better long term fix

Still works but no where near as neat as freedees lazer cut ones
