The part number is :66291 02 60/40 44AK and this is the cast number on the side of the master cylinder :GC64679597044

I was told that it was originaly bought to go in an Escort but it's a North South mount that I need to go in my Corsair I have checked with Noerthwest Classic and they say the part number is not Girling and I would like to ID it propely so I can get a service kit?

I might be a Vauxhall man but is it not a drum brake Cortina master cylinder of some sort?

Hi, Because of the shape of the reservoir and its attachment I would say it's Girling, the pushrod indicates it's non servo operation. The fact the high pressure outlet ports are on the left say's that it's for fitment in the left hand side of the engine bay, so they don't foul the inner wing. So weighing those up I would say it's for use with a remote linkage across the engine bay of a front wheel drive car of smallish size, something like a Fiesta or Mk3 escort.

Well Colin I understand what you’re saying and agree but all of the info I have found with duel circuit fitted Corsairs the rear section feed the rear drum brakes and the front section feed the servo and then the front discs and the diagrams I have shows the pipe work connecting to the master cylinder from the left looking from the front of the car and the bends are tight but possible and the duel circuit system was fitted to export Corsairs in the colonies only (it was the 1960's)

Hi, Pete, you're clearly more clued up on export Corsair's than me, lol. Having read the thread properly and your second post in particular, those dual circuit M/C's are fitted to some Series Land Rovers (but they're east/west flange so no good for you and are also Capri fitment as well) so as long as you know what bore size it is you should be able to get a service kit from either a LR or Ford supplier.
Hope this helps.
Colin

Could you not send it to somewhere like www.pastparts.co.uk/ and get it sleeved in stainless and rebuilt? Sorry if I have misread what you want to do.

The MC dose not need sleaving and all I want to do is to dis mantle it and clean it but I want to get a seal kit before I strip it incase something get damaged or broken during the dis assembly. A seal kit will be cheap compaired to having a sleve fitted.
