Morning chaps! I haven't been on here in ages now, busy old life you see!
Basically I'm in the throws of strapping a turbo to a 1uz-fe petrol V8. I'm actually going to mount the turbo under the boot at the back of the car, and have a little oil tank and pump in the boot, and cooler under the car
For a start what sort of pressure pump would I need to feed the turbo? And also I'm guessing a lifter pump to drain it away would be a good idea as the turbo will be lower than the oil reservoir....?
But mainly what pressure pump do it need to buy for the feed?
Thank ks in advance guys and gals

Is it really impossible to front mount the turbo ? Lots seem to flip the stock manifolds and hang it up front , I've squeezed a pair on my 1uz in lotus 7 sized car so there must be options for you

I know having it in the engine is better, but I'm just looking for ease of plumbing in terms of exhaust piping and the rest. I'm doing it in a budget and don't want to disrupt the engines layout too much. Mounting it at the rear just involves merging the two 2" pipes onto a flange and then out the back. All I have to do then is run an I take pipe to the front of the car

the ease of plumbing it in at the back is surely outweighed by the work required to get oil etc to the turbo

The length of the oil lines will mean you need some pretty big pipes in... And a good pump to return. And of course a huge intake pipe that will be pressurised and surely that volume of air will cause issues with lag? Likewise that volume of exhaust that needs to fill the pipe before stuff spins, it will have lost a lot of velocity by then and your whole exhaust will be scorchio hot, and likely unable to cope (thin wall tube). Where would you route everything? Or have I spectacularly missed something? (I have assumed engine in the front of the car and turbo on the back?)

A friend has tried this remote turbo with seperate lubrication system with his MGF and it's a massive PITA getting the oil circulation to work properly you need 2 pumps ideally as it's going to be mounted too low to gravity return it to a tank.
