I reckon you're just looking at the reflections on a truck with no paint on it.

Brilliant pics. So many cool cars and not enough time to see them all. Loved that moldy Fairlane that looked like it had just been resurrected from a 70s hedge. This year seemed to be bigger than ever, loads of European cars made the trip. I think they need to extend the show ground, I didn't make it into the show ground. Have a few more pics. I'll be back with more, when I get right in the head.

Andy's Cord - Oh my word! Heresy Alert. I think Andy Saunders' Cord was a little bit 'Emperor's new clothes'. I don't want to be negative as I'm fully aware Mr Saunders' vision and skill are way beyond anything I could hope for. Whilst the fabrication, bodywork and workmanship were utterly off the dials mind blowing, the wheels and stance weren't. Unless it was bagged and never let down. in my totally irrelevant opinion. FWIW what wheels would I have used? Feck knows, and maybe that's the problem. Brilliant pics. This year seemed to be bigger than ever, loads of European cars made the trip. I think they need to extend the show ground, I didn't make it into the show ground. I haven't done this show in a few years, What impressed me most was the number of cars I haven't seen before, both UK and foreign.

It is indeed on air - When set right, it's just sublime. I get you, I really do, but I struggle to see past his skills.

Andy was suffering an unknown electrical problem on the Sunday and could not let the suspension down through fear he wouldn't be able to re-raise it to get it back in the trailer. He was mortified that it had to be left in the fully-up position when I ribbed him about bringing a 4x4 to the show. The wheels are very marmite, they suit the car much better when it's dropped, indeed many, many bagged cars look all wrong when lifted to drive, wheels included. Personally I think the design adds to the Art Deco look of the car. It certainly doesn't help when people kept going up and spinning them, as they aren't supposed to do that. They are 'floating' wheels, meaning the centres say still, much like the Rolls Royce centre caps. Due to their mass they do rock back and forwards for a while once the car stops.

Wheels are tricky as I'm not a huge fan (although as you say they do suit the style and look better on drop), but then what would you use instead? Can't think of anything suitable so I'd say they work. Car is a phenomenal bit of work.

Amazing stuff as usual Jack ... going to check out the rest of the Flickr gallery... for now though, my pick Yum I like it. But what is it? Probably a Holden? It´s the usual answer when I don´t know a car. Eh? It's a Ford Consul or am I missing something? Mk2

381 by jack chevelle, on Flickr Some lovely cars on show there, haven't been to Old Warden for ages always seems to coincide with other things. This Chevy station wagon is my favourite from your flickr album. Still not feeling the wheels on the Andy Saunders car. they look not to bad on full drop but when it's at driving height it's too close to donk territory for my liking. Can't help thinking something simpler and a couple of inches smaller would have worked much better. Still, it's not my car so I can't criticise. I know this Chevy's got big alloys too, but it's a totally different style of car and suits them better (IMHO).

The wheels made it look like a donk when at full height. Dropped down where it should be it's spot on. My faith has been restored.
