For sale is my 1992 Laser blue BMW E34 525i manual sport with cloth sport interior. I believe it to be quite rare being a pre-facelift car with the post facelift engine from the factory (m50b25tu). It has the full sport suspension including a fully working limited slip differential and 5 speed manual gearbox. The car comes with its original first aid kit, torch and full tool kit including three identical locking wheel nut keys.
The car comes with MOT to 2/5/2018, with no advisories for the past two years.
I've owned the car for coming up to two years and have recently acquired a more modern estate as its replacement. The car has covered just over 170,300 miles of which about 18,000 has been done in my ownership. However due to the work I have done to it, it drives like a modern car carrying its miles extremely well.
A summary of the thousands I have spent on it are as follows:
Suspension:
• 4no. New bilstein b8 dampers, spring mounts, sport top mounts front and normal rear
• Both lower and upper front control arms, steering bush including drop links and rear dog bones and full alignment
• Rear subframe bushes and exhaust hangers
• 4 new matching continental tyres
Brakes
• New front and rear discs, pads, handbrake shoes
Engine:
• New waterpump, radiator, coolant, viscous fan, thermostat and housing
• Replacement of vanos seals ~Jan16
• New MAF and coil packs, new reverse light switch on gearbox
• New timing chain tensioner
• New fuel pump
• New intake boot and associated idle hoses
Interior:
• Replacement headliner to replace sagging old,
• Full OBC plus controller stalk with respective temperature sensor
• Replacement rear parcel shelf due to previous damage
Miscellaneous:
• Slave cylinder
• Serviced every ~6000 miles including engine oil, diff (with correct LSD oil) and gearbox oil, clutch and brake fluid, power steering fluid and all respective filters.
Strong points:
• No work required to be done to the car for the next few years beyond servicing, all major consumable have been replaced as above
• The only noticeable rust present is at the base of the drivers door, I believe this due to the records stating it was undersealed in 1993 and the regular cleaning of the sunroof drain holes.
Throughout my ownership everything has been replaced on a preventative maintenance method, with only the fuel pump and slave cylinder being surprise jobs. I believe the car is at a point where it could be used fully to commute reliably and efficiently for the next coming years and is a great example currently on the market. It has a large folder of history from the first owner all the way to me, including the relevant documents re-importing it from Northern Ireland.
Due to photobucket being difficult the photos can be seen here:

I can also provide further photos and viewing would be recommended.
I'm open to sensible offers, more so if the car is viewed.
