I got silly & bought a big brake kit for the Mk1 Cortina we've had hiding/buried in the shed for the last 25 years (along with Vegantune twin-cam), so I probably need some 15" wheels to clear them.
Ford's 4x108 stud pattern isn't so common here since European Fords stopped coming here through the '80's & '90's in favour of Mazda-Fords. Appropriate alloys equally rare unless specially ordered aftermarket new $. Since I hear PSA share the same stud pattern with slightly more RWD friendly offsets I've wondered about their steel wheels, not so common either...
I've spotted a pair of Xsara 15" steel wheels for sale but will eventually require a full set so am asking if the same design might have been used on other models (Xsara being quite rare here). Hoping to leave the wheels exposed with original 'Tina ctr caps so matching design would matter.

Well I said yes to a pair of Xsara wheels, though will need to hunt down more to make any use of them. More research ( www.wheelfitment.eu/carl ) suggests I should probably have been hunting Peugeot 406 15" steel wheels for their smaller 18mm offset. Though curiously still suggests Xsara had a unique 24mm offset (?) compared to 206/307 27mm, so I may still be limited to finding them from a Xsara. Hope they will fit but will be a while until I have a chance to find out. Still far more appropriate than Ford Focus/Mondeo 47mm!

Well, regardless of what the internet might suggest the supposed Xsara steel wheels I ended up getting are marked as Michelin made 6j15 ET18 with 195/55-R15 Michelin tyres (200mm wide inc. sidewall). 15" wheels part of the 2000 facelift? (I remember most early 306 wore 14" steel). Test fitting them on our Mk 1 Cortina parts car confirmed they fit.. but only just with 4mm clearance from sidewall to the frt strut. Assuming it still has original frt suspension/hubs since it has mk 2 Cortina Cross-flow Kent in it.

xsara was always et18 or 19 for a 6" rim.
et24 would be xsara Picasso, or possibly a 5.5"x14 wheel.

citroen c5 used 15x6 et18/19 steels too.

Thanks, will be keeping on eye out for 3 more, since it doesn't seem like I will find a better cheap 15" option. Had an idea C5 weighed so much they eliminated holes & started going for silly gauge steel?

Well spotted a wrecker that had two recently arrived Xsara so went along in search of more wheels. Turned out one was a VTR 3-dr with 15" Alloy wheels, 2nd was a '98 5-dr hatch but wore 14x5.5" ET24mm steel wheels. Guess I have to aim after the 2000 facelift for std. 15" steels
So I got the appropriate steel spare out of the VTR, and was able to find a 2nd lost in the yard from another long departed car to make the trip worth while.. Just need another for spare..
(Had not noticed C2 had two-piece tailgate before)
