Hi guys,
The E46 is back up for sale again after bringing it back into service when the Saab's engine shat itself.
As above, this fine piece of German engineering is for sale. It was bought from this very forum a few months ago as a daily while my Saab was being fixed. It has been a good workhorse in the time I've had it but it does have it's faults.
The both the rear arches are crusty as a crusty thing, the engine management light occasionally comes on and disappears of its own accord (I plugged in my diagnostic unit and it's a knock sensor), the seatbelt warning light is on (it went off for the MOT after fiddling with the cable under the passenger seat. A common fault), the rear passenger side wheel bearing grumbles in between about 45-55mph and the front passenger side door seal lets water in when it rains heavy.
Right, now that's out of the way, onto the good. It has very recently passed it's MOT (31st August) with just advisories on a rusty brake pipe and brake pads being low. I've replaced the MAF for a second hand one as the original was causing the car to drive awful, now it drives superb! It has relatively low miles (99k) and happily sits at motorway speeds, which is where I was mainly using it. The AC/heating works very well. It's pretty comfortable and the cloth seats are in good condition (but could do with a clean because of the leak on the passenger side). Has the full BMW toolkit in the boot with locking wheel nut. Tyres are all in good condition with plenty of tread left. Body work is good if you squint! The service light has just come on, so I'll be sorting out changing the oil and filters.
At the minute it's located in Sutton Coldfield (B72) on my parents driveway. They don't want it there, so would like it to go quickly.
If you're interested, give me a PM.
