Last week I sold my Dolomite Sprint (to be collected in a weeks time). This week I went for a 2000 mile drive around Scotland (roadtrip write-up to follow, although there is no retro content). Yesterday I put a deposit down on this. It's been a busy 2 weeks. Integra DC2 by Luke Benson, on Flickr Integra DC2 by Luke Benson, on Flickr More information to follow!

Thanks for the replies guys, it's kinda a dream car for me as I've wanted one since I was old enough to drive. I pick it up in a weeks time, dead excited. It seems to be a very sorted car, the current owner has been using it for hillclimbing at Harewood and has been running very competitively in it's class including some wins. Pity I didn't apply for a RRG hillclimb place this year! The spec list is long without compromising the point of the car, highlights are: BC coilovers, uprated camber arms, polybushing throughout Carbon 'whale penis' intake and cold air inlet in the front bumper Full stainless exhaust including super sexy manifold and decat Kaaz upgraded LSD Carbonfibre bonnet
I am a little bit sad that it doesn't have the classic DC2 red recaros as it has proper buckets instead, because racecar. We'll see how I get on with them, I may end up paying some outrageous amount of money for some secondhand original Recaros at some point.
I'm not going to be doing huge amounts to this one as it's meant to be a budget (ha!) weekend car/track toy. I've never been on a track day but this will change for sure and I'll probably end up focusing money on these instead.

Looks great dude, shame it doesn't have the Recaros they are pretty much race seats anyway, why would he change them, look forward to seeing it at RRG

The Recaros are so expensive on ebay

Recaro's are heavy & bulky anyway, std Integra seats are lighter, so proper race seats probably save 8 or 10kg each. Red covers for existing race seats? Though back seat access always useful even without passengers.

Now this is a turn that I did not expect but one I can see fitting coming to think about it!
The car looks great. A JDM version too I see?
This does not help with a car I have thought about getting from the moment I saw one ; a DC5. Yes I know they are not as good as the DC2 but being slightly more road friendly and the looks have swayed me in. I almost bought one over the M3 believe it or not. Rust however put me off one!
Have fun and I await to see what you do with it.

After a 12 hour round trip to collect it I've got it home, and it's everything I was hoping for! The car is so tight and agile, and the feedback through the steering is unreal. I'm definitely going to have to get some trackdays booked because finding anywhere near the limits of this thing on the road would be pretty dangerous. The good news is over the 6 hour journey home I got to know it pretty well and the list of things to do is quite limited at the moment. Today I'm going to put a headunit and speakers in it as they've all been stripped out to save weight but I prefer a bit of musical accompaniment to a journey. Also the current steering wheel is pretty grim so I'm going to swap that for the Prototipo I had in the Triumph, it doesn't really suit the car but will do for the minute. Next thing will be to find a matching bucket seat, the drivers one is soooo hard and uncomfortable but the Bimarco one in the passenger side seems quite nice (and according to the internet quite cheap to match up). It's quite a change, they couldn't be much different really, and while I did really enjoy my time with the Triumph I just couldn't enjoy actually driving it. I needed a bit more power and roadholding (ok, alot more!)

Chucked the Prototipo in there today, actually looks loads better than I expected in a 90's car so it may well stay. It's alot nicer than what it came with anyway. Oh and the nice guys at work fitted a handy Vtec indicator to my gauge cluster

TBH I love the Dolly Sprints but I never found it amazing in the handling department nor as quick as the 127BHP would suggest which I suspect like yourself never had me gelling with the car. A lovely timepiece with aggressive looks but not for me. The Prototipo wheel actually looks alot better than expected!

Fantastic car, looking forward to seeing how you get on with it. Always loved the Integras, but couldn't afford one when I was looking so I settled for an FTO instead.

It was a lovely cruiser but I kept getting left behind on b-roads and it wasn't fun to drive fast as it just didn't feel tight enough to inspire any confidence. I dare say that would be same with alot of cars of the era as they have little hope of comparing to more modern stuff in the driving stakes although they often have them beat in styling and character.

Should be easy to swap seat cushions around or replace foam to make them more comfortable since they are often velcro'd on f-glass seats, though a matching pair would be nice. Probably a fair weight difference if the Bimarco is steel framed. Almost as easy to swap L & R. Alternate wheel does look clean.
