That 'SNO CONES' metro van on the previous page was down the road from me in Knawbone Indiana. It sold on eBay for $20k.
Yours looks to be nice and solid Paul, what a great idea! Can't wait to see the finished, will that be a week next Tuesday knowing the speed you work at 😳

That's been hawked on the bay for quite some time - massively overpriced just like the Citroen H vans - in fact anything retro that can be carved up into a period mobile food van / drinks bar and has spoilt the market to some extent for any one looking to purchase a 'stock' period van at a sensible price - I wonder what the next trendy retro motor will be ??

This van will be built outside on the gravel. We are going to use plywood on the ground to lay down on something a bit more soft . Lifting the body will be a task! Jacks and blocks and who knows what else! Also doing some measurements, the relationship of the steering wheel location as well as the engine and where it is, the front seat location- getting that to fit is well... erm.. No idea how I'm going to pull this off! I'll start chopping and let the pieces fall where they may

Thanks mate! It looks as if we are making our first attempt at lifting this huge hulk of a body off the frame this Sunday. It's got to stop raining however. This whole thing is being built in the open air, doesn't fit in the garage so we will be crawling around in the gravel to get this one to happen!

That is ugly enough to be really cool. Have you considered not slamming it to the ground (i realise this will likely return the profit however)as this is what everyone does now. Go for the IH Syncro look using the 4x4 chassis. Whatever you do we all know it will be LEGEND........ARY

It is totally ugly, right? I've said it from the beginning, it looks like a cartoon character or a caricature of a van from a Mickey Mouse era cartoon. It was one of those vehicles that was "talkin' to me" as we say around here. This one just needed our help. It's getting body dropped on to the 4x4 chassis but I don't think it's going to look slammed. I almost want an off road type feel, but to be truthful, I have no idea what it will look like once we plop it over top of the Durango chassis. It won't be slammed that's for sure. It will be lower than it is, but not a knuckle dragger. I started chopping off little bits of metal today. The rear bumper, rain gutter, not much...

A 4x4 version of that stubby thing would be hilarious! I have a bit of a vision but no idea if it'll all work out and still make it cool. We've got a deadline on this truck and I'm not sure if I can make it- Sept 13!

So how close are the two vehicles when comparing wheelbase and track widths?
I am really curious to see how this one comes together.

The wheelbase match is off by 4 inches. The track with is much different, but the Durango width is just about perfect for the width of the van wheel arches. The van width is narrow and skinny tires, the dodge width will stick out just a little. It's going to look siiick

Need a button that communicates something stronger than "Like".
Looking forward to the details of how you get this beast up in the air. As I have been playing along at home, I was trying to work out a clam-shell approach to getting the van body over the Durango chassis.

Right now, I have two. The F250 Coyote swap and the 1960 Metro van build. The F250 is being done for someone else, should be complete this month sometime. The Milk van- it's for my buddy and I. We're trying to take it to this huge car show in September, and sell it. If it works, great. If not- no big deal it'll sell online somewhere. The lifting is going to be crazy! This thing is heavy and HUGE lol Stepping out there now..
