Hi there guys I,M currently looking for a very rare Crayford CAPRI with the above reg number. It used to belong to the chap that owned Wylies ford garage in glassine the 1980s. It was owned by a friend for many years. But was sold years ago. It was burgundy in colour and had a 3000e engine in it too. Any help would be great. Oh have tried CAPRI club and Crayford register too. But nothing as of yet. Thanks again.

For £5 you can get the DVLA to write to the current registered keeper giving them your details. They might get in contact with you that way.

Interested ....is there a form? I used the V888 to obtain keeper history and cost £5.00.

The registration VUS 2H is a Black 2994cc Ford as per the DVLA records provided in this thread. Although, we note that his vehicle hasn't been taxed since 01 December 1984 and therefore may not exist anymore. However, It is most unlikely that VUS 2H was a "CRAYFORD" Cabriolet conversion, since it doesn't appear on the Crayford Capri register that we've compiled since 1983. It may of been an Abbott or Carbodies convertible version. Both these conversion companies were active in the early 1970's. If you do eventually confirm its location then please upload an image and I will reconfirm which of the 70's coach-builders completed the actual conversion for you.

So I realise this is a 5 yr old thread but I stumbled on here cos I know exactly where this Capri is, it belongs to a customer of mine n it’s been parked up in a heated garage since 1983 with a cover over it,

He was at my work n we were chatting about his Capri n I did a Google search to see what info there was on 3ltr crayford capris n noticed this reg, I didn’t even know the reg of his till I showed him this post! He’s going to try n get a pic but it’s been sitting in the back of his garage in West Lothian wrapped in blankets since at least 1987ish

I love little moments like this, a bit like that custom Marina that popped up out of a lockup and then vanished again....
Not sure what happened to it after that. It needed an awful lot of work so it did get a more modern set of wheels and bodywork choices and while I did prefer it in the original guise (which doesn't matter, it's not my car), seeing it evolve and carry on at least for a little while was definitely preferable to it just getting scrapped as soon as the owner found out how little of the sills was left when they got digging.
It is a shame when stuff like that ends up migrating off forum for whatever reason and we're left wondering as to the fate of the project.

From the pictures the marina looked like it might be getting stretched at the front a bit and now has a front mounted intercooler or is that just for giggles.
