I'm guessing most of us don't have the 40k to drop on this, but if any of our more well heeled visitors fancy a punt this is a serious bit of kit www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222497792924This is one of the 30 (approx) Gartrac G6 models produced. The Gartrac G6 was a road going car, following the rallying sucess of the Gartrac G3 & G4. Utilizing the Ford 2.8L V6, Gartrac created this wide arch, rear wheel drive MK3 Escort

Bleedin nora ! Power Engineering 3.7 conversion , that must have cost a fortune back in the day !
I have a lot of respect for Power Engineering , being the forefront of cracking getting good power from the Pinto engine and many others .
Despite what they would have you believe it was not a certain south London clan , they just bought everything that had been developed already !!

I can't tell from the description- were the conversions done by gartrac when the cars were brand new in the 80s or at a later stage?
Just curious really as those wheels look like mk6 escort wheels so wondered if conversion was done in 2000s and gartrac fitted those wheels or if the previous owner fitted them or actually they're original 80s wheels which ford re-introduced for the mk6?

If it's a gen Gartrac as the listing says this beast is up there with the almost mythical RS 1700T (one of my dream cars, would have to be a replica obviously as all the originals were cubed bar one or two, possibly).
These were amazing and a real beauty of engineering, never seen one in the flesh, but have seen a gartrac racing one up close and it was a beaut.
The wheels look to be standard 80's RS seven spokes to me.

I knew about Gartrac back in the early 80's as they were fairly close to where I lived. Spotted a few Escorts around as well as a Mk2 Fiesta which was supposed to have been converted by them. Looked standard apart from having a diff hanging down at the back. Just had a look and they are still around. www.gartrac.com/index.html

My bestie has one currently. He bought it from Scotland 2 years ago and last year Gartrac did a few little tidying jobs on it for him. He wants it as his daily so he is currently fitting a Cossie YB lump with around 350bhp.
