Now part 2: A friend who recently got his datsun 120 y on the road spotted an electric sunroof that I've had stashed for years and said it would be amazing for a caravan roof, and maybe I should make another, then he could have the old one. I declined, but said he (we) should make another, but learn from the first one. Lesson 1: Yes, the Lino seemed like a cheap and easy plan, it looks great, easy to put on, but it goes sticky and discoloured in sunlight Lesson 2: the more storage and stuff you have, the more weight! Lesson 3: if you have a tiny car with no boot space, it all has to go in the trailer! Now, as he has a 120y coupe, number 1 and 2 really don't apply, so just the Lino to deal with, so for twice the Lino cost he could have aluminium!

Ruddy heck, you made that look easy! Loving the two levels of windows on the first and the sunroof on the second. More pics required- we all like pics. Chassis, wiring, fitting out; we're not fussy

A bit more done tonight! We got the corner beads stuck and screwed on, the sunroof fitted properly, and the door screwed in. All good so far, although the door was a little tight in its frame (oops) but a file got it sorted! I used gutter sealant to seal the corners, it works well but it's a nightmare to get the bits that ooze out of the edges, lots of paper and thinners required. Got it all stuck moments before it chucked it down. Tomorrow I'll get the chassis welded up ready to paint and fit it.

I think the last time I tried to reply to this thread my internet died and refused to post it up.
I love these teardrops you guys have built.
Sunroof is a winner for sure.
As mentioned, the more you add, the heavier they get.
I love the one I built, but would build another as well.
Actually have had the idea in my head to make a detachable body and chassis, so that one could add it to the back of the truck or tow behind something like the Prozac Berlingo.
