1984 Ford Sierra 2dr
1.6 L Model
Mildly modified
I have for sale my 1984 Ford Sierra daily driver. I have enjoyed owning this car for a little over three years, but now I need a decent tow car, so she has to go.
This came to me as a fairly original 1.6 Sierra. I had some throttle bodies left over from another project so I decided to fit fuel injection on the original 1.6 Pinto; to improve reliability and fuel economy. The battery was moved to the boot (as seen in the photos) to make room for a swirl pot and high pressure fuel system. This has all been done with high quality Torques fuel fittings and lines. The Megasquirt ECU sits in the glove box along with an EDIS ignition system, giving a none-imposing sleeper look. She is not fast but she sounds good and looks great.
I have added a wideband AFR gauge and tachometer to the centre panel, and made an effort to keep them low key. The original 13inch wheels and tyres were very worn, so she now runs 14inch Mondeo wheels and matching Toyo Proxies all around. This are painted in gloss black. I poly-bushed the front end to get rid of any steering play, and she drives well.
The front brake pads were recently replaced, however this car is still old and requires far more braking effort than any modern car. There is no power steering either, so this car requires more physical effort to drive than something modern.
The body is straight but worn. The rear arches could do with a little love but it still fly through MOTs with very little work. The passenger side door was vandalized many moons ago, and the repair paint does not match so well; however the door is straight.
This is the perfect donor if your looking to make a fun trackday car or fancy making a rare and subtle sleeper.
