Picked up this little beauty over the weekend from a friend of the family. It's a 1985 mk1 Nissan silvia turbo s12. Got just 65k miles on it and passed its last mot with no advisories. Slight bit of rust around the arches, but other than that in great condition. The guy I got it off has had it 20 years and done only 5k miles in the last ten years, just driving locally to keep it on the road. It's totally original other than the radio, but it came with the original too. Not many of them about, so can't find much detail on them. Anyone any idea what it is worth?

I like these. They can look pretty awesome as well. I think they look like a bluebird and an early celiac mashed together. If you're after a value only you're best off asking in the "what's it worth" section. From what I've seen they don't demand the same values as the S13 which have gone up astronomically over recent years but they're getting more desierable.

Lovely.
They were also called a Gazelle in Australia and NZ.
The FJ20ET version is well sort after because of being a bulletproof engine, while the CA20 is still good.
I'd have one, but over here they're still fetching strong money with even CA20 autos going for above $2k.

Nice car.
I remember test driving one of these as a potential company car when they were new, compared to the XR3i I had at the time was quite fast. Lease costs were too high for what it was though.

Love these cars, I really *really* miss the one I had (a black 1.8 Turbo on an F plate), almost 20 years ago now :/
I'd love another but you just don't see them around anymore sadly ...

Good looking S12! I had a Grand Prix one with the FJ20E.

That is mint. I never really see these about compared to their youngest siblings.
Body shape reminds me a lot of an AE-86.

Think I picked up a nice little gem. Wheels are an odd fitment but would like to put some wide 15s on it and drop it like he picture above. Problem is finding some cheap enough 4x114.3 wheels and any kind of suspension for it.
I'll probably keep it through summer, but could be tempted to let it go for the right price or a decent swap for something else retro as I'm more into German than J

That looks lovely definitely a keeper, breathing mods and an intercooler would liven it up.

Yeh a few mods would be nice. Seen some great looking ones on 9j 15s and coilovers, but can't seem to find any parts anywhere.
I am undecided wether it should be left standard or not.

My favourite part has to be the fully functioning washers and wipers on the pop up headlights 😃

4x114.3 should be easy. All Nissan's from that era used them. 240-260Z, Z31 300ZX, C31 Laurels, Glorias and R30/31 skylines all used them.
I have heard of S13 coilovers being adapted, otherwise there are companies, like BC Racing that do S12 coilovers.

I think based on what people have said I am probably best to leave it totally standard if I am looking to sell it at some point to retain the most value.
Plus parts are hard to get hold of.
If anyone fancies it and has something German to swap, let me know 😀

Wow that's in great shape. Not many cars look this good bog standard. I think the S12 design has aged really well - perhaps the slight curvature around the front and the bumpers. Brilliant car and nice colour scheme.

While the weather has been great, got a few decent runs out over the weekend. It's a great drive! Taking it out instead of my daily everyday at the moment

Lovely looking Nissan, I can't remember the last time I saw one of these on the road, there can hardly be any left now.

So tonight I spent a quick half an hour cleaning the engine bay. Needs a lot more work, but already looks a lot better. Before After Also took some pics of the underneath so you can see the condition. As the sun was shining, I took her out for a drive and took a few pictures. The car is pretty dirty, but I think she still looks good. Slowly falling in love with it, but need to be careful I don't clock up the miles too quickly.
