This event this year has taught me a disturbing thing, there is no where that people share complete photosets of car events online other than Flickr, and if something doesn't turn up on there, it might as well not exist. Instagram had loads of photos from this year's Street Car Nationals, but they were mainly of the same few cars, or just not very good. I hope this sorts itself out soon as being able to browse complete sets of photos from events in other countries is a great way to find inspiration.
Eventually Mooneyes put up their own coverage here : www.streetcarnationals.com/scn2017-report/
I'll try and not make this a sprawling thread, maybe keep it to two or three cars per category for the first post, there are some great exit videos for the second post and maybe do a bonus round on the third
American cars
When I think of Street Car Nationals this is what I think of and the full range is represented at SCN 2017 from rods to modern, vans to low riders and everything in between.
The rest of the USA cars are here : www.streetcarnationals.com/scn2017-report/2017-usa-cars/ ... some non-US things in there because of the whole USDM thing.
Now the Domestic Japanese cars used to be a smaller part of the event, but it seems their presence has grown over the years, which for us outsiders is a good thing as we get to see more awesome cars. The Japanese scene just mashes everything together, which I think is one of its strengths and something I'd hope to emulate with an RR event in the future.
Picking a couple to represent this is tricky, so I recommend checking out the link underneath these and having a click through the gallery, some neat ideas hidden in that lot.
This could easily be applied to a Cortina or any other boxy estate
This Debonair is wonderful
Couldn't stop at two

Vans and trucks have their own gallery but it covers off a lot of stuff (oddly there are also vans and trucks in the other galleries that aren't in this one).
There are few of these floating around the UK scene now and they are just brilliant
Lots more in here : www.streetcarnationals.com/scn2017-report/2017-trucks/
European and VWs have a small but super interesting representation at the event. It is always interesting to see what other nations do with cars you consider local, even more so with the Japanese attention to detail.
This concept may be familiar to members of this forum
This is by far my favourite car of the event, not only are the ideas and details great but the finish is first class. Rather than just having a pretty cool idea and executing it 'well enough' they have gone the whole hog and it is perfect. I spent a fair amount of time trying to track down the owner on Instagram or Minkara, but nothing yet, hopefully they will pop up at some point.
The Japanese VW scene is world class and I think this needs adding to the No Slopers! thread

Lastly their Kei cars seem to be pretty obsessed with being smaller version of big vans and things, however this caught my eye
There are a few more here : www.streetcarnationals.com/scn2017-report/2017-k-cars/
Next up some roll out videos
