I don't contribute here anywhere as much as I'd like to. Basically because I find the time to participate in RR worthy endeavours is hard to find between one thing and another, but I thought I'd share this...
My (almost) teenage Son is into driving games on his XPBoxS4MegaGameBoy thing and having acquired a steering wheel setup and got fed up crouching over awkwardly placed furniture, wanted something a little more 'fit for purpose'.
We 'remodeled' his bedroom a bit and he now has a bit more space so figured we'd have a pop at knocking something up out of the various odd bits of metal, scrap box section steel and odd nuts and bolts I have lying around in the garage.
First step was to get him involved...
Then we got busy with the sparkly metal glue stick.
I wanted to incorporate a seat (obvs), but didn't want to take up too much unnecessary space so figured we could utilise his existing 'office' chair, so made it so he can 'plug' the chair into the frame when needs be, and got to here...
So far so good.
A bit of 'finger in the air' calculations, grinding and honing my welding skillorz got us to here...
It's rough and ready but it's fit for purpose, is adjustable, ('cos he's like growing an' stuff), and folds up into almost nothing.
Just need to add some 'feet' out of an old bike tyre and a coupl'a bits of ply' to support he pedals and I think he's good for the Nurburgring!
