I've been looking at budget priced estates recently in case our Subaru Imprezza Wagon decides to give up the ghost (fingers crossed it wont), and this sweet thing popped up on my automated ebay searches www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-CARLTON-GL-/182575741436£900 buy it now. Looks to be a serviceable car. Which seems like me a perfect entry for a bit of photoshop/find another already modified/build it from parts online to a budget challenge. I'll set the budget at £2000 all in for parts, assume no welding or body work required. Or just go wild in Photoshop or on image searches and damn the budget

Had a silver Carlton Estate C867HEV (I think) back in the day. Only the 1.8 petrol but a great car, air suspension at the rear too. Loved it.

Heres mine, I took a couple of coils out the back as there was a bit of rake with the tired fronts, these have a panhard rod which ive never seen before, one spring is different from the other, is this the usual?

Cool motor! I'm not aware of the rear springs being different per side? Maybe its had a broken spring replacement on one side only?

I know it's a bit off topic but these are extremely comfortable cars and go well with a Weber attached.
