For sale is an ultra-rare Mercedes W201 190D 2.5 Diesel with the OM612 non-turbo, 5 cylinder 10 valve engine (known to do over 500k miles without fuss)
254k miles (so just running in!)
Has a short MOT until May 7th, and will need some welding underneath and a rear fuel pipe to pass the next one (please see photo of MOT failure). Previous owner put it through an MOT and they are the items it failed on.
Has a tow bar with electrics, JVC CD MP3 Player, 15" Alloys, Electric Sunroof, Electric Windows x4, and very rare Air Conditioning (not currently blowing too cold).
Starts first turn of the key, no overheating, no leaks, no hesitation from the bomb proof engine. Sounds like a tractor when it first starts from cold, but gets quieter as it warms up.
Will need a prop shaft bearing or coupling, as there is a vibrating noise coming from the drive train. This quietens as you accelerate, so is most likely one of those.
No overheating. No fluid leaks. Uses no excess oil or coolant.
Gearbox is good and gear changes are as they should be.
Suspension is good, with no knocks or bangs.
Tyres all have decent tread.
Bodywork in very good order, with no major visible rust or rot. OSF wing has a bubble, and there is light bubbling on the bonnet. A few marks, scratches and blemishes as to be expected with this sort of age and mileage. However, it is a very clean looking car, as can be seen in the photos.
£900 as it is.
If I get the work done, it's going on eBay starting at £1500 (these cars are cult classics now and highly sought after, especially in Africa and on the continent).
Really wanted one for a long time, but too many other cars (11 at the last count) means this ideally has to go... The missus getting wound up and it's not worth a divorce (or, is it?!).
