I'm basing the 4k ish amount on the fact it looks like it will save someone a hell of a lot of money and time compared to others similarily price on there . This car almost looks like you could do minimal bodywork , a key down and coat of paint and have a cool looking old cortina , compared to huge rust repairs , then full respray etc of others . It is already off to a promising start with 6 days left to run. I've seen cars which have sat at £300 for most of a 7 day auction shoot up to £3K in the last 5 minutes of the auction.

Ending auction early - veeeery naughty! Will assume in absence of any proof to the contrary that it fell neatly into my £800-£900 guesstimate.

Agree with you, very naughty but would have been stupid not to. Take MkX highest guesstimate and time it by 5 and you will be close (not there just yet) !!!!

Good result, I hope you made a decent mark up for your troubles. OK, I might have stopped the auction if I was in your shoes. If this car sold for £5K-ish, (which admittedly puzzles me), how much of a mark up could you make on this?

It puzzles me too fella I've owned far too many escorts, capris and cortinas Tbh I'd rather spend the money they are making on a Mercedes ,jaguar or Porsche etc Crazy prices, most people must of seen those eBay ads for rotten hanging fords ,just madness give me a mint jag or triumph stag instead
