Following on from the 'Disappointing' thread, tell us what your nicest driving experience was..
Mine? W140 Mercedes. No car I have ever been in or driven makes you feel as safe, comfy and immensly proud to own as my W140 CL500 did. Fast, Loud and so planted, it was amazing. I'd have another in a heartbeat.

Driving this across the desert in Nevada was very satisfying, lazy comfortable V8, but was also fine to drive around LA.

My Elgrand. Nicest car I've driven. Even over my dads Bentley. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's fast, Economical and comfortable.

SAAB 9-5 Aero Kombi, lots of high end power, incredible low end power (really, 430nm feels massive in such a light car!), very practical, quite economical, fantastic feeling on the road,...
Would buy one again in a second, sadly I won't because as much as it was fantastic, it was also fantasticly expensive to repair everytime something broke, which was approximately every 240km...

This... It was far better than I ever imagined it would be! In fact when I sold it I treated myself to a big Mercedes coupe, which I must say was very VERY nice, but not quite a nice as the Thunderbird.

I'm going to be awkward and answer this in a convoluted way. Most accurate to place, best engine and best sounding is my current RS4: Best steering was my old SC: Best chassis balance my old M5: Most impact on the everyman and woman my old 840:

This is going to show the quality of car ownership ive achieved in 21 years on the road! Nicest driving car would be either my old 520 E12 BMW or my old mk2 zephyr estate. I guess I like big old gutless 6 cylinders The BMW though, everything was knackered and it was still the best driving thing id owned. I assume a good, quicker one would be fantastic.

Vauxhall Senator, comfortable, spacious, excellent handling, big boot, reasonably economical for it's size, RWD, and enough grunt to get you into, and out of, trouble.

Mk1 mondeo, when they were new, a real step up for ford, 2.0 ghia with the electonic shocks (which still worked at 18 months old wow) not great at anything but was not bad in any area appart from the door mirrors wiew (too much girth to the waistline), it's over all okishness stucl with me and 23 years later i bought one, once it had the added pluss of being old and retroish.

My best is a tie between my old E55 (210) and a 528it Sport (e39). Eat up the road with ease and not feel a thing, I drive a lot so the little things are great in a cruiser.
I replaced a 928 with a 3000GT vr4 which is a car that's really looked down on but it was an incredible point and shoot car, heavy in the corners but on the freeway or a two lane blacktop it was the king.

I drive my pals E55 AMG 210 quite a bit and find it 'A bit savage' - Hence I now own a W210 E320

I'll go a bit low-rent for this one, my old 1.6 1998 Escort estate.
I used to drive it all over the country when I was at uni, regularly drove it to Edinburgh for the weekend from London, and never had an issue with it! Was nice and quiet on the motorway, perfectly comfortable and not too bad on fuel!

My e39, it's a pov spec 520i, tape deck and blue cloth seats with 200k on yet it will cruise all day at motorway speeds, whilst not making a sound and I get out the other end without making creaking noises, I can only imagine how nice a low miles well specced one is.

Often, I find that poverty spec cars are a better drive than the high spec one's - usually due to the combination of extra weight and or stiffer suspension. A year or 2 ago, I bought a W210 E240 Estate for a bargain £600 to use as a weekend cruiser. It drove lovely - so much so, my Dad instantly put his Mondeo up for sale to buy one. First one we saw in his budget was a top spec Avantgarde spec and he paid a grand for it. 1 week later he was begging me to let him have mine as it was horrible in comparision. (Lower & Uprated suspension along with lower profile tyres)
As you can see in my sig - I folded lol.

X300 Jag for me as well, defines nice to drive. Comfy, refined and relaxed. Miss mine, so tempted to get another while they're still cheap and common.
My old Hillman Superminx was always nice to drive too, again thanks to being comfy. Never describe it aS good to drive, but definitely nice.

Given to me after 14 years faithful service since brand new, effortless driving a great 2.5 V6 Diesel engine. Super smooth CVT gearbox, well for six weeks then it went pop. Sorry about that Dad!
