Hello all! First, a quick intro- I'm an engineering student at a Midlands university, and I was coerced into buying an MG. OK, maybe that's a little strong, especially when it took place in a pub and it was incredibly cheap...
The car itself is a RWA Midget that hasn't been on the road in my lifetime.
I received it as a garage full of bits. It honestly looked like an unfinished Airfix kit scaled up 32x...
First plan of action was to work on the engine ( rebuilding that will be my next post), but I couldn't resist chucking the back axle on it and the front end to make it look more like a car.
With the wheels only resting in position it had a mean stance so filters were deployed
In the harsh light of day the amount of work required could really be assessed. The previous owner has already replaced the front chassis, one sill and removed the floor on one side (yes, it was braced and the doors do line up). About £1100 worth of heritage panels was included with the car, including the remaining sill, floorpans, a complete boot floor, jacking points and that front chassis. There's some welding to do on the rear valence and a couple of spots on the arches, but it's nowhere near as bas as i feared (so far)
I noticed that the front scuttle panel looked a little wavy, so it was interrogated with a screwdriver
Maybe some work to be done here then...
