For sale is my girlfriends 1998 Honda civic 1.4 Automatic.
This car was bought in October 2014 as she was learning to drive and wanted an automatic for the ease of driving around town through traffic without having to change gear. The car was in good condition when it was picked up and is still in good nick, however suffering from a few car park dings and marks due to being a city car.
The car has a part service history (consisting of most stamps in the service book) and has 81500 miles.
Since purchasing I have completed the following work:
-New front track rod ends and lower ball joints
-2 New front springs
-New centre section and back box of exhaust
-Both front discs and pads (although have started to squeak a bit again)
-4 winter tyres (not matching but good tread)
-OSF CV boot
-2 Oil and filter services (one each year, most recent 13/9/16)
-Treatment and underseal to the common rusty areas and has never failed on rust for any MOT. It was advised one year but I attacked it with rust treatment and waxoyl and its never been an issue since.
and various other bits and bobs I can probably not remember!
The car is a good spec, having all electric windows and sunroof as well as working central locking. The engine runs sweet and in the past 2 years and 8,000 or so has never ever failed to start or leave her stranded. It is incredibly reliable and dependable. The auto box is surprisingly good and isn't too obtrusive while still returning good MPG. The steering is feather light and the interior is very clean. It has also never used a drop of oil or coolant in the entire time she's had it.
Timing belt was done at 69,000 2012 according to the service book.
MOT til 8th May 2017
The wheel trims are in the boot (we both preferred the look of plain steel wheels) if need be.
Overall this is a good, reliable and easy to drive car that would make a great first car or a daily runabout. If it has ever needed anything I have done it to make sure it kept her on the road The only reason for sale is that she wanted to return to driving a manual.
This car is now SOLD.
