Some great stuff there. I also have a habit of looking for slides at car boot sales - don't know why it's just slides, somehow more interesting that actual photos - and have a couple of local house clearance people keeping an eye open. I just sift through them looking for any kind of car content. I'm actually hoping to find a street scene with a Firenza or Sportshatch in the background, but given the rarity of the cars even when new, I'm probably on a hiding to nothing.
I've also got a Maplin slide scanner - they're basically a close-focus webcam and a light source in the same box, but unless they're top-quality images to start with, perfectly good enough for the job. I'm sure the good slide scanners would improve things, but at the expense of speed and, well, expense.
