Lexus GS 300 SE Auto in Metallic Blue
Full Mushroom Heated Electric Memory Leather
2000 'W' Registration
11 Months MOT
* High Spec includes: Electric Front Seats, Driver's Memory Seat, Heated Leather, Cruise Control, Lexus Premium Audio, CD Multi-Changer, Electric Glass Tilt / Slide Sunroof, Electric Steering Column, Electric Aerial, 17" Alloy Wheels, Front Fog Lamps, Power Steering, Electric Windows x 4, Electric / Heated Door Mirrors, Switchable Sports Auto with Power ETC Mode, Digital Dual Zone Climate Control
Ice Cold Air Conditioning
Powered by the legendary '2JZGE' Engine - the same as used in the Toyota Supra:
3 Litre, 24 Valve, 6 Cylinder, 216 bhp and Returns 30+ MPG
100% reliable, always starts first turn of the key. Idles in the correct manner, with no overheating or fluid leaks. No knocks, bangs or any other untoward sounds. Suspension seems tight and solid. Gearbox is as it should be and the gear changes are smooth. Sports Mode engages fine, and the old girl does lift her skirt when pushed! Feels very light and nimble, for a big car.
Bodywork is presentable, but has marks, blemishes and stone chips, consistent with age and miles. There is a scuff on the OSF corner (as shown in pic). A few rust blisters her and there, mainly on the arches. Alloys have flaking and kerb marks. Electric aerial works intermittently. LCD display on the stereo has faded (common Lexus issue). There is a blow on the exhaust and the front brake is binding slightly (both were advisories on the current MOT). Brakes would definitely benefit from a bleed, as they can feel a little spongy on the pedal from time to time, mainly when coming to a complete stop (this would need addressing sooner rather than later for peace of mind).
Interior is in good condition. Apart from faults listed, everything works as it should. No warning lights on the dash.
Cost over £35k new - grab an absolute bargain - so much car for less than a bag of sand!
I'm a German car / Jag man, but I must say I am impressed with the overall package this Lexus offers.

I picked up my new car last night (for which this Lexus was a stop gap).
This needs to go and price has been reduced to £850 ovno.
I will be in Northants, NN8 at my parents until this evening if anyone wishes to view there.
The car will then be in Bracknell from tomorrow onwards.

Drove this back 120 miles last night from my parent's place, and it drove spot on. A really smooth drive and the Lexus loves to eat up the miles. Very comfortable seats for a long journey.
I need the space now so reduced to £800.

£700 takes it, and it needs to go by the weekend.
(stupidly cheap - the service on my new car is costing more than this!)

£650 to any Retro Rider who is interested.
Otherwise I'm forced to put onto eBay and get the usual time wasters and tyre kickers!

I can vouch for pretty much everything you've said there having recently bought a phase 1 GS300 auto. It costs me the same on a 450 mile round trip as my old IS200 manual did, and all the electrics work which is good considering it's a 20 year old car.
Have a free bump and GLWS!

How's the brake booster on this? The are reknown for failing on the GS and are very expensive to replace, hence possibly why people are reluctant to buy a lower cost example.
You should hear it pressurise when the engine is first started (kind of a hiss/sneeze that lasts a couple of seconds), but if it makes a noise for longer than that sometimes, it can indicate its on its way out. Have you had any issues with the ABS lamps illuminating periodically?

Thanks for the replies.
No issues with the ABS light - not been on at all.
To be fair at this sort of money, I'm not sure how one can be picky?! It's £650 for a car that cost north of £35k when new, so you can't expect perfection.
I started it up mid week after about 3 weeks, and it fired up first time, idled perfectly and drove spot on.
It's on eBay now for peanuts and will sell for what it sells.
I'm quite disappointed with the response on RR lately - the enthusiasm for luxury bargain cars seems to have scarpered. Might just stick to eBay going forward, at least that attracts some buyers (even if 50% of them are timewasters).

Someone will have got a bargain, a very small amount of money will see the brakes & exhaust sorted, these things are boringly reliable!

It did start having issues with the Brake Booster on start-up so I sold it on. They are about £2000 just for the part, and even the breakers are aware of this - used ones usually sell for £1200 and you've no guarantee they wont fail in the future.
