When I finish the RR [Range Rover, not the other] I can produce a non stop time lapse of a car getting a pretty comprehensive body overhaul. Initially I thought that could have a chance of going a little more 'viral' and generating exposure for SOUP. I'm not so sure now, not least because even just running straight time lapse [as in no talk, just everything happening quickly] that video would likely be well over an hour long, possibly close to two! Who's going to watch that. I would totally watch that, and think a lot of people would - even people who wouldn't necessarily identify as 'car' people. There's a massive following on YouTube of so-called 'Strangely Satisfying' videos where people sit for hours and watch zen-like uninterrupted footage of things being made / cleaned / restored - ie wooden bowls being lathed, parts being CNC'd, paths being pressure-washed, clay pots being thrown. I think it's a way of living vicariously through other people's skills - and achieving calm without the drama or demands of traditional TV. With your chill voiceover it probably fits in with fans of AMSR videos too. So I think a longform timelapse of the Rangie being restored - even if you did some edits - would be right up a lot of people's streets.

This popped up in my YT recommends: Edd China has a new show coming - looks nice - sort of a "Edd comes and gives help and mojo to your stalled projects" thing.
Here's the teaser for the pilot - hopefully will get enough traction to grow into a regular show:

Been watching the Vinwiki videos for a while now (see page 3 of this thread ) and really enjoy some of the Cannonball stories.

This fella makes some pretty cool dioramas. Seen a few other people do other great ones too but can’t remember their names.
And my current favourite channel.

1st (Pilot) episode of Edd China's new show "Garage Revival" has just landed: Haven't got a chance to watch it but mojo boosting on a stalled GTI project seems like it will be gold.

I knowingly commit two sins with this post. However in my defence I couldn't find a better thread to post it in:
1. I'm going to mention a show that's not on Youtube
2. It's a show that's a bit contrived, over produced, and naff in the same way that a lot of American 'hot rod' entertainment car shows are.
However, despite the self-conscious hamming for the sake of 'le drama', I have found myself quite enjoying it. I came across it quite by chance a coupe of weeks back on the Roku via NowTV and I think it's originally a Discovery Channel show. I'm probably going to make a t*t of myself because you've probably all discussed it already and it could well be about 10 years old for all I know.
It's called Street Outlaws: Memphis.
It's quite entertaining and it has some pretty good races.
Just thought I'd mention it.
*Runs and hides*
Edit: Ehhhh, I just googled it and discovered it's been running for years already and this is merely the latest series.
I WILL GET MY OWN COAT THANKQUEUE

I give most stuff in this thread a watch, just to see what they're doing different, and this guy is actually really watchable. Videos could do with a little bit of editing to be fair, would be excellent then. As it is, not bad, considering I don't usually like the Vlog style of video... 1st (Pilot) episode of Edd China's new show "Garage Revival" has just landed: Haven't got a chance to watch it but mojo boosting on a stalled GTI project seems like it will be gold. Was waiting for this a good while since the trailers started appearing. Not disappointed. Hopefully a series comes of it. Same about having the wheels sand blasted though, you could see the pockmarks through the powdercoating even via the camera. Old wheels should never be sand blasted.

From Jay Leno's Garage - a drive in a new-build new-tech car. Very interesting from a technical standpoint.
