The new top gear is a joke I refuse to watch it the reason it worked so well with jezza.Hammond.and may is not only were they all mates off screen.but they bounce of each other on set.the banter they have/had with each other made the show what it was... Putting a ex freinds actor a ginger jailbait lover and a random.who between them know nothing about cars or making a good tv show. R.I.p top gear gone but not forgotten Hmmm........ not even got all the presenters right with that one!! Perhaps if you did watch it you would know what you are talking about

There's a new-new one - this is what people are nattering about - it's been on for two episodes so far (new one this sunday) and it's light-years better than the last one - some of the same presenters, but the writers are different (no atrocious Danny 'I know nothing about cars' Baker). The short version is - no Chris Evans and no Eddie Jordan making it a cringe-fest to watch. I'd give it another look...

It's improving with every episode. Really enjoyed last night's one. I also twigged that that was California well before my better half did...

Really enjoyed last nights episode , loved the Golf Clubsport and also thought MLB's conclusion at the end of the Fiat test was spot on !

You've been telling me you were a genius since you were seventeen ... in all the time I've known you I still don't know what you mean !

Watched the first one last night, the other half wasn't keen -she was very vocal against Chris Evans and how it wasn't 'proper Top Gear'- and was very much 'if you really have to' when I put it on.
She made the comment 'it's gone back to being more of a car show rather than three guys messing about' part way through the Alfa test, and whilst I think she saw it slightly negatively, I had to agree, but see it as a positive attribute.
I quite enjoyed it, and it's certainly a step up from the last series, and by the end of the show I was hearing positive noises from the other end of the couch.
If it only get better from there it's deserving of sucess.

I thought this weeks show was the best so far - if only because it at least 'looks' like the guys are enjoying themselves - which was NEVER the case when 'The Ginger One' was at the helm.
I also agree that 'The Mad German' did what she does best - drive.
My only 2 bits of feedback for improvement -
1) they should shorten the guest bit - it seems to go on for b***** ages.
2) It looks like they have gone from Jag engine coffee table and Rolls/Bentley seats to an Argos/Ikea/Staples budget special - please put bit more effort into it BBC (a minor thing I know but it just looks a bit temporary)

I thought this weeks episode was pretty poor. The first two shows were okay and moving in the right dercetion but apart from the Fiat 124 feature this episode failed. The Golf bit being a complete fail from the off.

That wasn't the case to start with though it took a while for them to become mates, at first James May couldn't stand clarksons child like attitude and disrespect for cars and Hammond thought May was a boring old git that couldn't drive.

Just watched it , really liked it! Not the best show i've seen ever , but me and swmbo really liked it for what it is. And i really hope it keeps doing so. It became a really nice car show around cars again instead of sillyness with a person in the spotlights. Can't wait what next week brings.

Enjoying the second series. MLB and Chris have a thing going and decent banter whilst remaining factual Rory still feels like a spare part that doesn't quite fit in although he's no Longer the excited puppy he was in the last series

If it can be fixed with a hammer, then it must be an electrical fault

Ive been thoroughly enjoying it. My constructive tip would be to swap Rory with the kid who reviews chicken shops. Crep check before every review ftw.

Ah, it's just a bit of fun. Besides, my experience of the 'Ring is that the fastest cars there are diesel Mk4 Golfs driven by locals, making mincemeat of shiny new 911s on every corner...

I think one of the biggest criticisms of the last series (excluding the ginger one) was that the format had remained completely unchanged.
They seem to have addressed that a bit now.
The studio is now more studio-like, no longer blatantly a hanger with a few bits of dead car strewn around, the guest segment is more integrated into the show, rather than a 5 minute slot of JC sucking up to a star, they've ditched the 'reasonably priced car' for a 'reasonably powerful car' and got Harris trying to coach the stars rather than the silent Stig. Seeing Tamsin whatsherface telling him to F*ck off out of the car last week...priceless!
I'm certainly enjoying this series a lot more than the last.

I don't think there's been an episode of TG that I didn't like, no matter who was presenting, because when it comes down to it, I like watching cars!
