Some nice pictures here, with an amazingly high young lady count for RR as well.
A couple from here...
Jones Bridge looking north, which you may have seen on a couple of my "Letter from Manila" video clips
This was just before the Japanese popped over.
Two things of note, 1) Filipinos walked down the middle of the road even then and 2) they drove on the left. They switched in 1945, "..in that it would reduce the price of motor vehicles imported into the Philippines from the United States". If they could have foreseen that only a few short decades later, everything would be imported from Japan, would they still have made the change?
The first traffic lights in Manila. Destined to be ignored for evermore.
Seems like the thread in which to place this. Decided against the shots with the corpses in. It's a 1934 Ford Model 730 Deluxe Sedan 85HP V8. Apparently there were quite a few claiming to be the original, so this may or may not be real.
In most cases it's about trying to recapture a time, probably all of the images I posted above are digital and some I think manage to take you to a back to a different era. For me B&W just exudes class that colour shots sometimes just can't equal.
Who'd have thought these bikes would ever be THIS cool?
Of course going to the right event really helps with the illusion, this is a photo by Amy Shore at the Distinguished Gentleman's ride in London last year.
Dare I say it, she's good too...
I'll stop boring you guys, I have just bought a Pentax and stuck a film in it so we'll see what I can do in the next few months.
