Apologies for opening the can of worms, different folk will have different opinions but we all seem to agree that safety is a top priority.
Old / used / part-worns are a risk as you may fit them only to find they have poor grip / braking / cornering - these need to be removed and taken for scrap asap.
Others will be as good as a new tyre.
I reject any tyres that have damage on the sidewall or bead or any that I find have poor grip .
It used to be that tyres from cars crashed in mainland Europe can't be resold there - so part-worns here may have come from a car crashed abroad.
As with any different tyre (new from the dealer or part-used), drive carefully for the first few hundred miles - then decide if corning / braking / grip is as it should be.
Your choice, but stay safe regardless.
