A bit late to ask now, but I'm thinking of heading to Brooklands tomorrow morning for their New Years Day meet up. Not been before, and may not even get there as I'm pushing my luck with either a dicky thrust bearing or a dicky bearing sleeve in the gearbox. But all being well I'll be there in my Humber Bomber. If anyone is going and sees this in time, drop your deets in so we can exchange automobilian compliments. www.brooklandsmuseum.com/index.php?/events/details/new-years-day/

I went to this today, but only just seen your post. It was a fantastic event, hundreds of classics to drool over. I was queuing for ages to get in, but I was sat in traffic surrounded by great cars so it made it OK. I ended up parking on the banked track. Did you go yourself?

Haha, yeah I was. I planned to be at the gate for 9am but overslept a little. Still got there for 9.30 and actually the most exhilerating thing was crawling in en mass, surrounded by every stripe and type of interesting vehicle, the sounds of all those engines and the amazing overwhelming smell of exhaust fumes and petrol with the occasional waft of clutch plate. I also parked on the bank but on the rare occasion I get to go to this type of thing I wander rather than standing by my car.
I kept my eye out for RR stickers but only saw one in a nicely lowered Austin Metro, which looked really cool.
Seeing so many mildly altered Metros made me hanker for one. I grew up near Longbridge... My whole family either worked at Austin/River or at Cadburys. My first six cars were Metros and I loved them. It might be time to return to that and get a nicely poised Metro with some race fettling.

An overhead time-lapse video of the cars arriving. Quite good for getting a sense of the kind of metal that turned up, and also for spotting yourself. I'm easy to spot because I had no idea there was an admission fee. I could have sworn the website said it was free entry, so I got chased and stopped for my entry fee. = )
(horrible music so switch the sound off unless you like the idea that life is just a big version of a free smartphone bubble pop game)

Was a very good day out yet again. No screen grab for me tho, as the time lapse starts after I arrived

I shall be there from the wee early hours... waving my arms around in a hi-viz tabard helping to get so many cars parked on one site! Great event, great venue.

I'm going to be heading out this year. Have an american over for just over a week and wants to go to a car show. Only big one i can think of. But will only be taking the P100 not quite making it into their 1987 and earlier criteria as the Capris are off the road. So will be in pleb parking

Ehhhhh, I didn't make it this year. Planned to make the pilgrimage, but the two days leading up to it became busy with family stuff, and I didn't get any time to clean and prep the car. I got as far as checking it over and giving it a quick blast round locally to wake it up two days beforehand, but noticed a slight fluttering on my oil pressure gauge which spooked me a little bit. So the remainder of my limited free time was spent exploring that and driving the car a bit more (flickering disappeared again and in conclusion it may have been my imagination, or possibly my christmas eyeballs wobbling up and down in little pools of residual vodka).
So on the morning, I woke up, looked at the terrible weather, reminded myself I have a filthy, incomplete, messed-about-with Scimitar that is full of oil cans, spare parts, bits of trim and hardly any interior, and I decided nobody would want to see that, and I didn't fancy firing it up at 6am on a quiet residential street (it's very very loud) so I stayed tucked up in bed and consoled myself with the fact I can checkout all the photographs of the day on the interwebs in due course.

I wasn't planning on heading to Brooklands tomorrow, but having not driven my car for a couple of days now, I am sat here weighing it up and getting that itchy feeling in my knees that I should just get out early and cruise up there.
Anyone else planning a run to Brooklands tomorrow?
