I don't think there's much built since 1993 that feels fast. The 1990s was all about dulling the senses. The more competent and easy to drive a car is, the less involving it tends to be. Nothing built since '93 that feels fast? I beg to differ. One current example is the BMW M135i, they feel rapid when you put your foot down! I get your point about "less involving", but this has more to do with safety equipment to make sure that not every crash results in a fatality. If you're after a go-cart, then retro cars mostly win this round. But to say that cars haven't felt fast since 1993 is a bit of a false generalisation. As for cheap and quick retros. Here are a few: Citroen BX GTI Subaru Impreza (although this will require shares in an oil firm) Nissan Pulsar GTI-R Volvo V70 T5
