I'm actually tempted to do this one of the times. It's been on the list of things to do for quite some time.
Which other RRers would be keen to give it a go?

sorry been away from the forum for a while busy putting new motor in the Mini May be doing a run towards end of month possibly a Friday if anyone wants to join us? Great food at the alpine cafe in betwys y coed the back to do two sides of the triangle and perhaps up to the ponderosa cafe above llangollen for a cuppa. Great social event, fun roads and great grub, what more could you ask. Provisional date would be friday 27th November - who's up for it?

I'm very tempted as I'm only in Shrewsbury, but to be honest I would decide on the day dependent on the weather.

Awesome day out. We decided to include twisty roads Bala, Evo triangle then back through Horseshoe pass.
Damp on the whole with occasional Sun, certainly got to know and appreciate my MR2s handling as I tried my best to follow an Elise, tailed by an MGF VVC.
This run in the dry would be brilliant.

www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/watch-how-north-wales-scenic-11019270The video shows how not to save oversteer in a FWD car (Too much speed combined with cold or sh*t tyres) he was lucky not to end up in the undergrowth or worse hit someone coming the other way! Looks like the B4501 stretch to me! The article does make me chuckle that one of the farm owners complaining is called Gwydaf Evans!!

Good article and frankly I agree with the locals. You've got to balance speed with safety. We're tending to avoid the triangle more now as there are plenty of other great routes. Yesterday sun was glorious, I drove out myself over the mountains to Bala as the other guys had got tied up with work. Had a really great time - a few photos below Came across this on return through Bala . Chatted with the driver who was a Photographer for Car magazine Our drive outs are evolving into differing routes and time of day considering most people can't make the weekdays we're now talking about summer evening runs starting out 7.30 - 8pm allowing plenty of time to enjoy quiter roads with the return leg likely to be in the dark. So a varied experience that everyone should enjoy. Bookmark the thread if you want to stay updated thanks

New idea.
As most can't make the daytime runs we'll also be doing evening drive outs of varying lengths.
Initial thoughts are 7pm start from Oswestry. Means a mix of sunny evenings and return leg in darkness which adds variety - the odd midnight run too ..
Runs will be notified by private email newsfeed in future to make it easier to keep in touch.
Routes will vary and not be posted in public. Respect for locals and wildlife paramount whilst enjoying ourselves.

Last minute decision nipped out today for a run from oswestry via llangynog over the mountains to bala. Stunning day and a good drive over, impeded slightly by a group of relatively pedestrian bikers good to see safe riding though. Return trip was awesome with little traffic and good clear run. Road surface warm grip good and plenty of fun well within our limits
