I have to say I'm still far more interested in the cars and the fixing cars part than the buying and selling part. I really don't care if those parts of it are made up, and I'm not really arsed if they do other work outside what is shown on the show. The S2000 episode was a particular highlight because, whilst I had a vague idea of how it works, I'd never actual seen inside the engine. From this point of view I'm glad they branched out into more exotic and interesting machinery because patching up old snotters would get really boring really quickly.
People moaning about the labour thing always raises a smile. I've tried invoicing my wife for work I've done on her car, I even do it a minimum wage rather than garage labour rates. She still tells me to eff off.
when it comes down to it, it's a show about fixing old (or not) cars that i've picked up a few tips and tricks from along the way. Long may it continue.

Cutting the chassis on the Noble left them with a car that legally requires IVA as the chassis has been modified. Wonder if it would have made 27k with a Q plate

The RS2000 replica made me laugh. Bought the car with a standard looking pinto. Later on in the program, not looking so standard! Certainly not mentioned either. So after the final costings and the car is finished they then try abit of rallying and mess up the front valance. After some remedial paint work its ready to sell!!

Next you'll be telling me Eastenders isn't real? Still makes me laugh when Mike found a brand new freshly painted MR2 wing in a breakers yard I do get the impression that some cars are built for people and they just turn it into an episode, especially the ones that are sold back to the original owners, and the Mk2 Rally car - not sure anyone would spend that amount of money building a specialist rally car without it being for a customer.

Hate the show, can't stand that fat idiot. Ed china is a 4th rate simpering prat. Get me an assistant, 10 grands worth of tools, all new parts, a fat mate with a wad of cash and I would not be chopping huge lumps out of the chassis of a car my porky chum is trying to get 27,000 quid for. Apologies for the rant but I can't move for customers asking me 'do I watch that wheeler dealers?' and telling me 'that edd china is amazing' have Gerheart Burger in a benneton with fancy orange and green sidewalls I have misspelled Gerhard burgers name.

Quite correct sir. Its an entertainment show. Its for people who don't really have a great deal of knowledge of spannering. My daughter likes watching it, she likes stuff like that. Its like the Eddie Stobart series, thats not showing how the hgv industry really is, its an entertainment show around a particular firm that your nan could watch. I watch Wheeler Dealers occasionaly deoending on the motor they are doing. And yes i sit there thinking its a bit made up, but hey its just tv!

Got to say, not a huge fan but my uncle showed me the last half of the S2000 episode. It was nice to see that Edd did put in mention and thanks to owners clubs. I like to see it because it perhaps brings more like minded people (enthusiasts who like to have a go themselves) into the fold. Plus, I met that chap Edd once, very pleasant, very friendly, was driving a sofa at the time with ski goggles on, my kind of chap!

It's a TV show that covers a subject that most of us are interested in. If you don't like it for whatever reason don't watch it.

I don't like Eastenders, Downton, strictly x factor up the love jungle, or any of that curse word so, rather than sitting there in front of the box getting all irate, I do something else.

That chassis mod is actually quite common and was introduced to all of them before the M400 came out.

There were two main episodes that ruined the show for me and they were - The Mercdez SLK - Mike went to a professional Mercedes breakers yard and walked away with four alloys, a stereo, a body panel and an SLK supercharger all for £450!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolute bull***t, The charger alone would have been over £800. You can buy an SLK supercharger for under £250. Several on ebay as I type...
