Best I update this thread too!! Well I put it to the insurance company about myself needing to import a replacement and that quotes I had for such were between £3700 and £4900. I'm not greedy (I had £1700 in the vehicle) and suggested that to just get it all sorted I'd be prepared to accept £3700, for which they obliged! Again, all this wouldn't have been possible without you guys' advice! Having said all that I would rather have the truck back any day, still gutted when I see pics and think of it. My favourite vehicle yet, well alongside my AW11's

When you registered, did you not have to declare a sale value? (or did you fudge it in your favour?) Here in Canada we have to pay sales tax at that point.
Not at all familiar with that particular vehicle, but in Canada I would expect to get a check that covered the purchase of a similar vehicle less the sales tax (insurance wont cover sales tax for repairs or replacment, you get stuck with that bit)
Not sure why you would be dealing with the second party's insurance company unless it was a case where you did not have collision coverage; else-wise, it is your insurer that should be fighting on your behalf.
If you wear a neck brace for the next time you meet with the adjuster, things move along a bit faster.
