Hi!
I noticed that some spool guns for aluminium welding can be had way sub-£100. Looking at prices for professional spool guns, they cost 5-6x as much. So the question if those cheap spool guns are any good is probably a valid one.
I'm not looking into welding aluminium all day long in a professional scale, but I may have to occasionally weld the one or other bit of aluminium. And I'm OK with having to do a lot of dressing up to make it look OK, I've seen enough MIG aluminium welds, TIG is clearly MUCH more beautifull for welding aluminium. That's not the point. But if they'r utter useless cr@p and fall to pieces after 2 blobs of pidgeon sh!t, any £ is one too much. Right now I'm not willing to invest in a AC TIG machine. My welder can do DC TIG, but that's no good for aluminium, sadly.
I'm currently looking into this one: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311446607602 - the price is VERY tempting!
Any experiences??
Thanks!
Cheers,
Jan
