Looks good with those wheels on, I do still have the Forte centre caps and front springs if you are interested. I've tried selling them before with no interste s I doubt they will be going anywhere for a while. This is my old one with the springs fitted and 2 bags of sand in the boot ! I did lower the back when I rebuilt the rear beam. To be honest the front doesn't seem that much lower then standard especially as it's got the steel blocked diesel engine in it. I'm definitely still interested. Do you know how much it would cost to have the centre caps posted??

I had it that colour combo on an early corsa, dropped 30mm and on 15inch rims better than the white exterior, s*%t brown interior and black wheels on my k10 micra that preceeded it!

White wheels & a spot of lowering and you'll be winning. Lowering can be free - chop the springs on the front and wind the torsion bars down a few notches on the back.

i may be slightly biased on steel wheel colours on AXs i used to love my old forte steels but ultimately with these things, 4 stud is the way to go looks like a great base to work from, keep at it and keep us posted on progress

Yours looks stunning, if only I could afford a GTI, Forte etc, I have some Forte centre caps on the way and should be having the wheels powder coated over christmas. I'm saving for springs and pressed plates at the moment but I'm really happy with it. I think I've seen your thread on AXOC, its really tidy and I like the steelies.

if that shell is solid id just stick with that and put a GT kit on it. thats all the forte/GT(i) is anyway theres a lad round Gloucester with a white 1.0 shell, black kit, 4 stud stuff with 205 speedlines and a cheapo 1.6 8v engine that cant have cost a grand to build, its a little riot and doesnt half peddle along when pushed.
that forte doesnt look anywhere near that good these days, its being sat a while but hopefully garage space will clear up soon for me to start back at it. i don't recognise your car from the AXOC, where are you based?

I'm new to the forum, Nottinghamshire area near mansfield. The thread is the same as this posted under the same title. The only thing that puts me off the gti kit modifications is insurance, as i cant really get away with it the same as what i'm doing now, but maby in the future a engine swap 4 stud conv and kit is what i want to aim for once i've past my test and thrashed around in it for a while!!

That colour combo of white and maroon is the same as the old metro advantage models, loved that look. Looks great!

Hey Paul, just in case you havent already bought those centrecaps off steveg i thought id let you know they wont fit your steels. If you look at steves pictures youll see the holes in his steels are swaged. Those are 0.5j wider than yours and specific to the forte model. Youll need the forte wheels to use the centres

Paul was trying to sort out a Paypal payment, hopefully he sees this before he does it.

They wont sit flush in the wheel, theyll be about 10mm proud.
When i painted the forte steels in the pic above, i put a set of POV steels on for the week and found the centres didnt fit properly.

It was my 18th birthday on Monday and my dad surprised me with these. Also had my car serviced even though I still haven't passed my test because I've been buys with a levels I'm getting close now. Got some money as well so wheels will be going in for blasting and powder coating soon.

Updates on this if anyone is still interested, i had two driving instructors that messed about trying to take as much money as possible, and for many reasons i never took my driving test, I've just finished my first year of uni and not had the time to take my test or do anything on the car. Springs are sat waiting steering wheel and other mechanical bits just stock piled up. its just sat on the drive for the past year. I hope to take an intensive driving course soon, however i'm in Cyprus for two months so its just more time that the car will be sat doing nothing. All my friends have moved on to more expensive and newer cars but i still rate this car for unique characteristics including faulty electrics and rust... Heres how the car looks now (exactly the same + a year of depression)
