For sale is a Triumph Single Rail, J Type Overdrive gearbox.
Comes complete, as seen, with wiring loom, bellhousing, release fork and slave cylinder.
I will also chuck in a new gear knob cap and overdrive switch.
I also give the buyer a virtually new 1500 Clutch kit (minus release bearing)
This gearbox came from a Spitfire 1500, but will also fit a Toledo/Dolomite with a change of gear lever (very easy to do).
I bought this box from a fellow club member, when the overdrive in my 1500 Dolomite developed a fault.
I was able to fix the overdrive however, and seeing how I'm now selling my Spitifre project, too, this is surplus to requirements.
The gearbox is of unknown condition, so is sold as seen, however I have little reason to doubt it'll work.
This is a really desirable box for anyone with a 'small chassis' Triumph i.e. Herald, Spitfire, Dolomite etc.
It makes the cars truly usable on modern motorways, dual carriageways etc.
